If Saban liked him enough to bring him on staff twice then he must be a pretty good coach.

If Saban thought he was good enough to be an OC, he would hire him to replace Sark.

Aggies have been trying to create any magic for over 50 years. There is a difference in doing and just wishing.

Those 5 interceptions his QBs threw yesterday were super duper impressive.

Matt Corral threw 5+ INTs twice this year, and I think about any team in the country wouldn't mind having Lane as their OC. I have no idea whether this guy would be any good but "his QB threw 5 INT one time" isn't a reason why he can't be good.

so when you say.... "Joe Brady never had prior to 2019 and many here say he ran the offense"

then I suppose you're calling bullshite on those that said he ran the offense.

Coach O trying to replicate Brady. Seems lazy.

I think it's clear you think Brady was in control of the offense, so let's say most of the offense's success last year was due to Brady's influence, like most of this board said after it was successful. This same board laughed at his hire prior to the season, didn't think we'd get any better on offense, and said he was a nobody with no experience. So I think all sides talk out of both sides of their mouth when it comes to Brady. LSU fans don't want to acquiesce to the idea that Brady was a bigger part of the offense than anyone wants to admit, and other fan bases don't want to acquiesce to the idea that they were wrong about their original opinions of the hire. It's just constant crawfishing and deflections on both sides. In reality, yes Brady was a guy no one had heard about before the 2019 season, Brady had minimal experience prior to last season, Brady modernized the offense, and Brady had a lot more to do with the offense than either he or anyone else has admitted, that much is pretty clear. The rest of these back and forths have been a lot of stupid on both sides, while, oddly enough, each side tries to show the other that the other is the stupid one. It's pretty comical TBH

I think what Brady showed is you don't necessarily have to be a guy with years of experience and proven success as an OC to actually be a good OC when given the opportunity. It may make a coach like that a riskier hire but it doesn't make them a bad hire either or one that can't be successful. Every coach has to have their first shot somewhere.

So essentially this thread is LSU posters hyping up their alleged new OC hire by either propping up or tearing down Joe Brady...as it suits their argument.

I'm saying a lack of playcalling experience shouldn't matter to those who say 2019 was all Joe Brady.

It works both ways. Fans of all teams will prop up or tear down one side of an argument depending on the thread and who is saying what. Basically arguing for the sake of arguing, regardless of how consistent they are from thread to thread. This isn't exclusive to Joe Brady, either, or even LSU topics. This happens on really any divisive subject on this board. One thing will be torn down to build up another, or vice-versa, depending on the particular thread. It's simply incredible how often the same people will argue both sides depending on the particular thread because no one wants to ever admit that, maybe, they were completely full of shite, trying to be an a-hole, or don't like admitting they were wrong about something they said previously.
