Now from an Historical perspective, in South Louisiana, and other areas tied to the Catholic Liturgical Tradition, Christmas is a Season which starts on 25 December and ends on 6 January, the Feast of the Epiphany. Hence many folks, particularly older ones, don't take their Christmas stuff down till around this time.
