Still not as impressive as what Merlins did with Trask, imo.

Turns out that contract was ahead of its time as the next great recruiting gimmick. $7.5 million sounds about right for what we would have paid a guy not named Jimbo for a year like we had.

This sounds so familiar to 2012 and Kevin Sumlin it’s shocking.

Well considering what Auburn paid so Malzahn would leave, what Texas paid Herman to leave..I'd say a stable coach that has elevated the program is a fair contract. Bottom line is who cares what was paid...none of us are paying it's millionaire boosters footing the bill.

We paid Sumlin more for less. Texas did the same with Herman. Everyone knows the pay scale varies by region.

Many said he was washed up and he ruined FSU and so on.

He left that program in very rough shape leaving, there is no disputing that. I don't know between the divorce and his sick kid if that contributed but he obviously was checked out for a bit before leaving.

He obviously is a very good coach and seems to be happy at A&M. (obviously loving his paycheck lol). Jimbo has done a very good job so far. They have gotten better each year.

Sumlin did it with 100% the previous coach’s players. These are guys Jimbo has either recruited or coached for 3 seasons. I don’t think it’s the same.

You mean a team with no depth whatsoever that lost 13 senior starters?

So losing players matters? I’ll take note of that

The 2013 Aggies only lost 4 games and didn't allow SEC records to Mississippi State at home. (They even had Dak Prescott at QB that season)
