Or he could be saying he’s not given much thought to returning or leaving, but that would be kind of obvious I guess?

The Disney Dawg in me feels like he hasn't given much thought to leaving.

Unless he has personal/family reasons which necessitate him going this year, the competition he has in the draft, plus his lack of game tape would put him back further than he likely will be next year. I can, however, see him opting out if he doesn’t see a ring in his future.

Just watched the interview and he basically gave a coach speak answer.. Just taking everything one week at a time and he's only focused on the opponent that week. Once the offseason gets here he'll make those decisions.
The way he and Monken talked about the young players and the future of the offense made it seem like he'll be back next season.

He's gone is the way I interpret his comment.

If he were to leave this year, he’s fighting for what? #4 QB in the draft with Lance, Jones, and Trask? That’s a mid first rounder. You come back and have a great 2021 and you are probably QB #1 or #2 with Howell from North Carolina.
If you want contract #1, you go option two. If you want to go to a better team, maybe better fit, option one.
Wouldn’t fault the guy either way.

There are at least 4 who would go before Daniels and probably more than 4. There is risk in leaving and risk in staying.

He's not leaving, there are dudes on the FCS level that would go before him in the draft just due to lack of game tape JT has, and his recovery from knee injury is still a concern.

He loses millions if he leaves...$$$ tells him to stay

He's played half a season of football in the last 2 years. I guess he could leave but it seems like crazy talk to me.

Seems to me like he hasn't thought about leaving...

Wait a year for an extra $10m+?
This isn't a hard decision.

But we are excited about not only the guys that will be playing on Friday but the young players we have, especially at the skill positions. As we're able to move forward, a guy like JT, who is certainly capable of distributing the ball, understanding where we want to go with the football. It's an exciting time, especially for me. Hopefully we'll have a chance to have a legit off-season, be able to study what we did, what the difference is that we want to change as we move forward. College football is different than NFL. There is a lot of differences that I think we'll continue to build off of and develop who we are as we keep moving forward.
