I'm tired of looking for a quality thread discussing this. But if there is one a link would suffice.

The only info I found about who will actually play is just guesses... "Will they plug in the backup center (Chris Owens) or shift other guys around?" type stuff. I'll see if I can find a link.

Edit to add: This article seems to imply that we'll plug Owens in.

Chris Owens. He's a redshirt senior and a 4-star coming out of high school. Saban says they have full faith and confidence in his ability to perform well.

This is why I started a thread. It is to me, one of the most important things to be negotiated for our offense to remain solid.

Most likely they just put Owens at center.

If that lineup has issues, I imagine they’ll shift Ekiyor to center, Neal to RG, and put Owens at RT (which he played against Arkansas).

Owens was in at RT for at least a series last night as well.

I haven't been able to watch every game this year and am not up to date as some of you gus are, so thats why I brought it hear.....along with being banned from another board I've been associated with for over 20 years.... ... politics are a bitch...

I gained a lot of respect for LD after watching one of "Bama Podcast" with his speaking about his education. LD is a very bright young man.

Well is Owens any good? Will this screw our run game up?

We just lost an all american center.

He would probably be starting center right now and last year had Dickerson not transferred.

Yeah and we suffered due to it. Don't want him out there anymore

Well, we have to go with someone and he’s the one with experience.

We don't have to go with him at RT. Again, I literally noticed him and commented on his jersey number in the game when we moved him there.

We shortly moved him away from there...

Just saw where Dickerson graded out at 99.6% for his blocking assignments this season. Wow!!!

Owens is a good center and a natural coming out of high school. We will be fine in that department. One thing we have a lot of is OL and good ones.

No, but if we have issues running the ball with him at center, then the other option will likely be shifting Ekiyor to center, Neal to RG, and Owens to RT.

LINK ]Alabama center Landon Dickerson to miss College Football Playoff
quote:

“Landon is a hard guy to replace because of his leadership, his personality,” said Saban during Sunday’s Rose Bowl Zoom call. “He’s very inspirational in a lot of ways to all of his teammates. I don’t know that you replace a guy like that, but we have confidence in Chris Owens.”

Owens started the season last year as the starting Center before Dickerson moved over, and has started multiple games for us across the line. He was the RT vs. Arkansas when Neal was out as well.

Saban was quoted back in September before the season as saying that "we really have 7 guys we consider starters on the OL, although we can only play 5 at a time," and Owens has been the first man up virtually across the board.
