It means that they didn't really have a plan, and we're basically doing the same thing we did to hire Malzahn. I like most, not all of the members of this search committee, Quentin Riggins, McKenna, Campbell all some sound smart people. My problem is that this seems like an extended long process that wasn't with a yes or 2 already setup before the firing.

If this group comes up with Steele I’m done with Au football. Not that that matters to anyone other than me but shite. Can we please have a “ peaceful protest” if Steele gets hired. It worked for Tennessee.

Word is that there are two camps at Auburn one led by Bo and Halbert that wants Steele. And the other camps that wants anyone but Steele.

It’s a real shite show.

This does not give me the warm feeling of success.

I am guessing we will all be saying: WTF over the hire that comes from this group.

Oh. My. God.

This "committee" means nothing. No, it does not mean that we don't know who we're hiring and we're calling up Bo Jackson to choose for us.

I'm convinced that some of you just revel in misery.

I will tell you what I think even though most of you dont GAF.

I think Mario was the target. They possibly could have talked with him already. He should have been available this week until the Pac 12 championship game become available.

I think they now need to wait until that is over and the rest of this BS is just smoke and mirrors. Maybe the Committee was put together to be prepared if the deal with Mario falls through.

Thats just what I think. I personally do not think Steele, Lane, Freeze will be our coach. There are better choices out there.

If you remember the search in 2008 and in 2012, it was like this. Chaos every where because nobody outside the people making the decision knew anything. Half the people did not even know who the frick Gene Chizik was when they announced him. Didnt have enough experience with Auburn to know he was our DC at one point

Auburn could really frick this up and I am not going to lie to you bro. If they do, I am going to laugh my arse off. But I dont think this is going to be a long drawn out deal. They will pick someone and we will be off and running with them. Good or bad.

Deep breath in, chill out...

Harburt has no business pushing for Steele or having any say so whatsoever.

I think so too, but will he remain the target or will Oregon win out with the Nike money?

I don’t think Steele is the guy or Freeze.

No way do they pay 21 M buyout for Steele to take over.
