Matt had a shite game. It happens. I do not believe he is the problem on this team.

With that said, should the Falcons take a QB at pick 8ish? I am in the yes category. Draft the future with a top 10 pick. Let them learn behind Matt for a year, and then move on.

How bout you other GMs on the board?
What say you?

Edit: to reflect better draft position than anticipated

Agreed on your first point. The problem is more Koetter and shitty play design and the deep dropbacks. That and asking him to do too much. At his age he needs to be asked to do less, the Saints did it w/Brees and it worked up till this year when age finally got him.

Zach Wilson out of BYU. That's my guy. Sit behind Matt for a year or two then its time.

No.

It was a shite game, but it’s literally the only time I can point to the offense and say, “yup. Matt’s fault.”

Dirk Koetter is an absolute atom bomb. There’s visible frustration with the play calling in the players.

I’d be OK with a QB in round 2 if we seem to be high on Mac Jones or someone in the range, but, I think with the contracts and the cap woes we have, we’re better off riding out Matt and Julio for the next 2 years for better for worse.

Downvote away, and I deserve it, but I'm taking Devonta at 8.

Yes, because you don't know when we're going to be in range to draft a future QB again.

I am also in the camp that likes Wilson. The Mormon Mahomes nickname is a bit overboard but I think he's got absurd potential.

I would say no but if we get Dorsey as GM and he says he wants Wilson, I will trust him based on his track record.

I like Wilson. Has good talent and has the kinda swagger that could increase excitement for the Falcons. I still consider Matt a good QB and he could mentor Wilson for two years the maybe move him somewhere as a one year rental before his contract expires in 2024

Id be fine with Wilson or Fields. From a marketing standpoint there is a lot to be said for taking the homegrown AA talent. Probably a safer pick too. I think a lot of uga people can’t fully grasp how good he is. Or selectively choose not to. Luckily we will get to see how he does in the biggest game in his career in a couple days

They will need a WR cause they are trading Julio, and may trade Ryan also, so maybe I can see them taking a QB, get a first rounder for julio and then yes take the qb at 5 then wr to replace julio with that pick
