But they will keep on telling themselves that Kirby is the answer.

And he is or you wouldn't be so worried about it.

Can’t wait to see when Saban leaves then who will be Bamas answer. Cocky arse Bama fans had two of the greatest coaches ever and they act like they can comment on every other program. Without Bryant and Saban y’all are pretty mediocre.

That’s really what it is.. it has taken 2 cult leaders Bryant & Saban and Alabama mortgaging the entire state to win those 11 of 12 championships in the poll era.
It basically takes a Jim Morrison type leader giving out drug laced kool aid to win there... the gumps have no problem drinking it with either....

Alabama's winning percentage with neither Bryant or Saban as head coach: 66.3%
Georgia's all time winning percentage: 65.5%

And with that, it marks the official end of this conversation.

Well, there was also this guy that won 70 games in 7 seasons including an undefeated national title season.
Then if you go back before WW2 there were these other 2 guys that won a shait ton of rose bowls.
There’s also this little deal where Bama has won at least 1 conference title every decade the conference has existed.
So yeah, mediocre.

How does you proving his point end the conversation?

This made me laugh because I think you meant Jim Jones

Although a Jim Morrison concoction might be just as deadly

66.3 win % all time would be 11th best among current P5 schools and #2 in the SEC.
Add in the national titles, conference championships, and awards won during those non-Bear and Saban years and the whole program is not as historically elite but still above "mediocrity."
Hell, between the Stallings and Saban years, they won an SEC Championship and managed some 10 win seasons in the darkest period of Bama football since the '50s. Many schools would trade that nightmarish period for any 10 year stretch in their own mediocre to bad history.
