Do the admins not understand a competitive (6-6, 7-5) Vandy football team would attract so many students to the school? I get the admission standards make it hard to compete but if they ever went all in on football it would be easy to sell smart kids on football in the sec and in turn normal student recruitment would skyrocket and everyone would want to go to Vandy to get a good education but still be an SEC school.

your asking if a bunch of liberal eggheads would make a logical decision? Absolutely not. It wouldn’t surprise me if some in the administration are happy to see football fail because it’s nothing but a bunch of “jocks” who probably have them swirleys in middle school

I seriously doubt that there are a lot of hs students who do/could get into Vandy who aren't choosing to attend, but would attend if Vandy had regularly a 6-7 win football program.

They are turning kids away now. My daughter toured Vandy and had the numbers that would put her in the pool of potential students. But Vandy basically told you up front that if you didn't do Early Decision with them, you might as well forget it because getting in regular decision is like buying a lottery ticket. I wasn't going to commit to a $70k a year education without seeing the financial aid package first and that's not the way ED works. It's binding. So Vandy doesn't care about attracting more kids.

The value of a Vandy degree attracts students, they don't need football for that

Vandy isn’t trying to attract more students.
