So, now that it’s official, what are you’re honest thoughts of us playing against Bama?

Seriously, let’s take off the O&B glasses for a moment.

In a nutshell, this will be equivalent to the 2019 FLA/LSU game. Back and forth for awhile until the mid 3rd qtr when Bama finally pulls away.

1) Our defense is soft. Worse than Charmin soft. I don’t care how few scores we held the last 3-4 games. Bama isn’t Vandy/UK/UT/Arky. If anything, those teams showed Bama what they could do against this offense. And Bama could do it even easier against us than they did.

2) Our run game doesn’t suck. Our OL sucks. We had a decent run game towards the beginning of the season I thought. Now, it’s worse than last year I believe. We can’t even get 2 yards it seems like.

3) Trask will have even less time to throw due to the OL, and Bama’s secondary is even better than all the teams we played so those tight windows for Trask just got even smaller. That doesn’t even mention the windows over the middle to the other receivers.

I predict Jones will have at least 3 50+ yard TD passes. Harris will have at least 2 30+ yard TD passes with an extra short gain TD. Trask will maybe get his 3 TD passes and that’s the game with a possible field goal because of Mullen’s crazy play calling.

42-24 Bama and Florida heads to Miami again for the Orange Bowl.

With our weak arse running game and a defense that couldn’t stop Vandy or Kentucky early on, UF gets boat raced. I have s sick feeling Trask is going to have an absolutely horrendous game. Lucky to score 14.
60-10.

Bama 49
Florida 34

I feel Bama's defense will have enough to get stops and force FGs and/or punts, while UF won't be able to get any stops at all.

I also think Jones officially surpasses Trask in the Heisman.

Jones will throw for 6 TDs on our secondary. Sark will use those WR crosses, and with our secondary, Mitchie and Smith will be running wide open with Jones lobbing rainbows.

It’s just bad matchups all over the field in this one for the Florida defense. I guess if it were me I’d stay zone, double smith whenever I could and just crazy zone blitz cause frick it yolo.

Then pray that trask and the wr have a transcendental game like vs Arkansas and also just pray Alabama has an off day.

As of today my prediction is 49-27 Alabama.

This is the best coaching staff Bama has faced.

I have a feeling Mullen has been sandbagging a little bit lately because he’s been preparing heavy for Bama. He knows we just have to win out. Style points don’t matter.

We’ll need a turnover or two, Todd. Can you do that? If you can we can outscore them.

42-38. Go Gators.

Thats really the only scenario that UF wins.

Also, Bama usually has one "off" day a year for their offense. They haven't had it yet.

Frankly, I'm hoping they destroy Arkansas.

This time around there is a legit path for UF to win this game, in 2015/2016 there was none.

In 2015 and 2016 I had no hope for UF heading into that game this time I do.

They pretend as though they're not, but this is the first time where I've felt confident a coach was actively doing things to not show his hand.

People had suspicions about McElwain, but it never was the case. With Mullen, you can see that he just tries to end the game, save his plays and move onto the next. Which somewhat is to his detriment, because people see the final score and think it's way closer than it was.

It was 31 - 7 deep into the fourth against Tennessee.

38 - 17 vs. SCAR.

34 - 7 vs. Missouri.

56 - 21 vs. Arkansas (mid fourth)

31 - 10 vs. Kentucky.

In all honesty, our defense has pretty much held up in every game until the very end. It's just agonizing, though, because we know when a drive is going to be a touchdown. We can just...see it happening in slow motion, and when it does happen it feels worse than it actually is.

I think we can score with them, I don't think Alabama's defense is amazing. Teams have passed on them fairly well. If Mond and Corral can throw for 300+ yards, Trask can as well.

Jones throws 12 TDs and they rush for 600 yards.

The sky is falling.

i have a feeling that if we utilize pick plays, it's going to get called. we can only assume Saban has stated his case to someone in Birmingham about it because it was finally called against us in the Tennessee game. we know Clemson killed them with it in one of the natty games. we can do it, but i don't think Saban will allow it to happen.

The only problem with the pick that we ran against Tennessee is that it was an obvious pick, like, the receiver literally tried to block the guy (outstretched hands, it was pretty bad).

They really just need to run their routes, and at least make it look that way, even if it's a RB wheel route from the snap.

Outside of that, we didn't throw that at all against Tennessee after that, that I can remember. We'll be alright, Florida's passing game is pretty gosh darn good.

They threw it one more time, it was executed better and also defended better.

Bama 38
Florida 11

Take an 11-10 lead in the second quarter, OL and secondary fall apart immediately.

the thing i don't get is with our passing game being so good, why can't we run the ball better?

My guess is that our communication up front is better suited for pass blocking than run blocking. Really the only guy who consistently gets turnstyled is Delance on pass pro.

I've seen another problem, too, on the outside:

Copeland, Shorter and Henderson are not blocking with the fervor that they should be. This isn't to say that they're bad, they're just not very good, either. I notice our Bubble Screens are completely blown up almost every time we throw them, so our guys just aren't physical.

I've also noticed that quite a few WRs seem unhappy, disinterested. Watch how Grimes celebrates his touchdowns.
