Alabama commit Devonta Smith jumped 169 spots to #149 overall.
John Lewis went from unranked to 166 overall. I would wager that his recruitment blows up.

It's better than Christian Leary's.

One of our posters, Bamabo7, is his coach.
Trying to get the scoop on him.
His Senior film is great.

Pass on any information you can. I am always intrigued with players that are underrated by a lot and then blow up all of a sudden.
I wanted Georgia to get Barmore bad when he began to blow up. He's seems to be doing great for you guys.

The one that shocks me the most is TID. He jumped over Maason Smith to be the #2 DT in their rankings.

247 has made it quite clear that outside factors dictate their ratings, whether that be subscriber numbers or personal biases of the higher ups or whatever.
There is absolute zero consistency applied to their rankings - Senior stats mean everything to some players others can sit out a whole year and not move, some get dinged for being an athlete with raw tape others put up zero stats but continue to rise because of their athleticism.
Not even getting into the fricking circles fans talk themselves into over a "high" vs "low" 4 star. Can't believe we've allowed this retarded mess to become a multimillion dollar industry.

Wait! Are you saying fans show a bias for kids that are committed to their team?

I have seen various boards call Bama bump, Georgia Bump and LSU Bump. If a kid from an opposing fan base goes up in ratings then it is an undeserved bump.
I saw one guy claim his favorite teams players always goes down in ratings......then another fan showed that it was not true and their players actually rise overall.

Recruiting is fun, and I think, as a whole they do a good job. But we fans do tend to do some fancy logistical thinking when it comes to recruiting.

Lewis is a great kid.. he has one of the best first steps I have seen. He is always moving towards the ball and tracks it very well. He will also lay the lumber. He honestly reminds me of Ruben Foster at times.. if he times a blitz correctly.. it’s a big play. He still has plenty of size he could put on his frame.. but his speed is a huge upside. He runs sideline to sideline with anyone. One of my favorite kids.. and I’m a hard arse. He really worked hard during the offseason to be where he is now. I really believe he will be a great pickup for anyone, especially if he works like he did this offseason . The kid still has a lot of upside in him and he flashes signs of being great now. FSU and Ole Miss have been pressing hard.. Deion has too at JSU. I don’t think JSU is where he will go, but it’s still cool to talk to Deion for him. I will say Kiffin is a good recruiter, he relates with the kids

Thanks fo passing it on. Sounds ike a great kid to keep an eye on.
He gives him quite an endorsement.
FWIW, to all talking about all the underrated kids.....yep. I think there will be a ton of them with few to no camps, and truncated seasons. There will be a LOT of misranked players. This is the year we find out who has great evaluators on their staff. A team could conceivably have a terrible ranking on the composite and have a group of solid studs if they evaluate well. For an SEC team...if they evaluate extremely well, they could go after a class of low, underrated players and possibly have very little competition for them.

Jack Bech and Matthew Langlois both went from 87 to 89 ratings as well which are big jumps. Couldnt quite get those 4th stars though

Saivion Jones continues his meteoric rise as well. Top 5 in the state now on 247, 93 rating and #127 overall in country on 247. He was in the 500s with an 86 rating early this year.
