Bama has had amazing offenses for the past few years and Kirby has game planned for them perfectly. Where he's whiffed is the change up.
There is no change up this season. Young isn't ready.

Bama's Oline is huge. They average over 330 pounds. Probably would be over 340 if their 5* LT Leatherwood didn't loose weight.

SB4 is the exact type of QB that gives Bama trouble. Fleet enough on foot to escape and extend a play.

I would be tempted to leave that dude at home. That 15 yard penalty kept Tenn's drive going and they scored off of it, if I remember correctly.

I'm optimistic for no other reason than Pickens just screwed up and should be on his best behavior "this week". Two weeks from now, all bets are off

Of course. He's going to be capable of clearing out the safeties for everyone else underneath. Bama is going to try to take the middle away but Bama can only cover so much space when you push Jackson downfield and get linebackers biting on misdirection.

I say yes. But if Bama pressures Bennett with 4 (or 3 with a spy), then I honestly am not optimistic. According to tide fans, that is a big IF.

I'm not targeting this against you. But the only he reason he hasn't yet is because we haven't needed him to. He gets close and the cavalry comes in off the bench. It is a silly question in terms of White's ability.
Does he get 100 against Bama? I'm still guessing no because McIntosh can do things he cant and Milton may be flashing this week in practice (no insider take here... I'm just guessing that Milton's role gets bigger during the course of the season). Bama could be the type of game where we need a bell cow to tote the rock 23 times, though.

I worry about him handling a 3 or 4 man pass rush. Our linemen didnt have the best technique against Tennessee. 3 men pass rushers were pushing our OL into Stetsons lap. The 4th man was spying Stetson to step out of the pocket and Bennett was dead to rights in an instant. I dont think it will be hard to duplicate that (bama should have equal talent on the DL to Tennessee).

He seems to straighten up after this kind of BS.
Pickens other problem is Stetson's arm limitations are limiting him. He's beaten guys deep for TDs 3 or 4 times and Stet either didn't have the arm to get it there or didn't even try.
We play 25-30 yards in. He and Monken will have to make adjustments to maximize his effectiveness.

Yea. The very next play after Pickens got the penalty, they scored, IIRC.

I think Bama is going to blitz early and often and play extremely tight coverage counting on Bennett not being able to beat them deep.
Monken should counter with designed roll outs for Bennett with TE blocking and then sloughing off blocks in short yardage passing routes for the TE's and RB's. If the DB's come up to defend the run then there should be some WR's open behind them. This could be very effective if Bennett is able to throw accurately on the move.

Bennett threw a bullet right around 60 yds vs Auburn, I fail to see the arm strength or lack there of issue. The undertheow is tactic that mitigates the risk of an incompletion. Be great to hit them in stride but that far down field it's easier said than done .

People are bagging on Brick Vandergriffs arm as well but I would say he has a cannon.
Stafford and Shockley are the two strongest arms I have ever seen at UGA. Stafford had a mountain of drops for lack of touch. Shock had the most incredible pass I have ever seen in a game at Vandy. He damn near through it diagonally the 70 yards.

Dude, I'm a fan of the kid, but he doesn't have good arm strength. It's just true.
You know what's better than an underthrow when a guy has 3 yards on the defender? A touchdown.
