Why announce now? Just bizzare, why not continue the gamesmanship.

Maybe this is the gamesmanship? Auburn now assumes it will be JT, but surprise here comes Carson Beck!

Could be. But if he starts Daniels, I would let them find out after the kick.

If Carson Beck starts my mind will be blown. Maybe we have an abundance of QBs. Go Dawgs.

People mad about losing our “surprise” gamesmanship. Daniels and mailman play the exact same style of qb don’t they?

Trot out the Waterboy, mind blown.

So weird, oh so a little over a day and JT is cleared? Gamesmanship is the only explanation.

Yeah, lets not get our #1 qb any live reps in a new offense and just roll him out against the second best defense we'll see this regular season. And that makes sense to you?

We shouldn’t have to depend on playing depth chart games to gain an advantage. Our recruiting and coaching should take care of that.

Who says things have to make sense? I don't understand why Kirby would announce this early.
We still don't know who starts Saturday. JT most likely. Maybe Kirby was protecting and saving JT for the tough road ahead and not worried about the lack of game play.

Wanted to see if Mathis was going to be all world. Since he is not, Kirby needs options.

I see daniels as an option, not an answer. We’re struggling at QB, the sooner we understand this the better.

Completely agree...drives me crazy.Coaches rarely played those
games 25+ years ago.
I believe Belichick kinda started
the uber secrecy policies and Saban brought it to the college level.

Because football coaches are paid to win games and having your starter miss the first game just to screw with the next opponent is not something Kirby or any coach in America would do.

To give AU one more thing to prepare. This way they won't be able to focus on one specific qb.
