What about during the day?

You are safe from it at night.

There’s not going to be a football season if this keeps up, at least not a complete one
How hard is it to wear a fricking mask?

Nephew goes there and says close to 1,200.
And...this

Administration officials at the University of Alabama reportedly have ordered the school’s professors to keep quiet about the coronavirus amid an outbreak that infected more than 500 students during the first week of classes.
"Faculty in multiple departments said they received emails this week telling them not to discuss the situation in classrooms and to keep students in the dark if they became aware of anyone contracting the virus, according to an exclusive report by The Daily Beast."
“Do not tell the rest of the class,” the email reads, with the word “not” underlined, the Beast reported."

That’s an indictment on society, with 56% of the student body from out of state.

The Daily Beast.
The email didn't say anything about keeping people "in the dark." It said not to discuss it if they became aware of a student with COVID. Know why? Because if the student is identifiable (i.e. quarantined from class, and therefore obvious) discussing their medical condition is not legal.
Goddamn, I hate what has become of journalism. And I pity anyone stupid enough to repeat things from the Daily Beast.

That email has been twisted to death.

"Cases"
As of last night DCH had it's lowest COVID patient count since May. Counting cases is mostly meaningless.

Masks can't stop a virus. This has been known many decades.

So what? Kids will be fine!

Who cares. Get back to me if someone goes to hospital

Good, let's get this herd immunity over with. I don't want Bama to have any excuses about players being sidelined with wuflu when Mizzou spanks them week 1

It will likely be worse than 2012 when Alabama visits.

I could fix the problem for college kids. Stop testing them. They all live and life goes on.

These are cases that happened after initial testing:
quote:
The University of Alabama tested 29,938 students returning to campus and found 310 positive cases among them, according to the website’s data. Testing a week later, however, revealed more alarming results.
“During that time, we encountered many students who have been exposed since returning to campus, particularly in the Greek system,” said Dr. Ricky Friend, dean of college of community health sciences, according to The Associated Press.
The university has a great deal of control over both the environment and the student body if it chooses to exercise it. I don't know what UA's formal polices are but I did find it alarming that they only took action about gatherings late last week. The Greek system in particular, can very much be controlled by the university and forced to comply with policies that would limit exposure/transmission.
Transmission is going to happen but universities damn well better have their act together on this because they control plenty. They are closer to Indian Reservations and military bases with their own regulations, policies, codes, and police forces that exist within larger communities than anything else. They can't control what's outside but they have a ton of control internally and over what students and staff are allowed to do even when off-campus. Flagship campuses also tend to have a ton of influence over the towns and cities they are located in.

Oof. You misunderstand. I was responding to an inbreeding comment.

Keep living in the past. Only one school will have a coach that won't immediately keel over and die if they get kungflu

Nick Saban isn’t actually alive. He was converted to a other worldly being in 2008.
