DP was told an hour ago that the Big 10 and Pac 12 will cancel their football seasons tomorrow... The ACC and the Big 12 are on the fence.. And the SEC is trying to get teams to join them for a season.

Dan Patrick reports Big Ten had internal vote & by 12-2 margin, league members opted on not having a fall football season. Nebraska & Iowa were only schools that voted to play this fall, @dpshow said. Patrick said Big Ten & Pac-12 would cancel fall seasons Tuesday.

We know concerns remain. We have never had a FB season in a COVID-19 environment.
Can we play? I don’t know. We haven’t stopped trying. We support, educate and care for student-athletes every day, and will continue to do so...every day.

[Nebraska's] Frost on playing if the Big Ten cancels: Wants to play a Big Ten schedule, but "we're prepared to look for other options."

SEC better nut up and play. Will set us up as THE league going forward, and we will be able to dominate recruiting this year and in the future. We will probably get a ton of badass transfers too.

Power 5 AD just texted me: “It’s looking more and more like it’s Big Ten and Pac-12 vs. SEC, ACC and Big 12."

I find it very hard to believe OSU did not vote to play.

Big 12, ACC, and SEC need to have the season.
Covid isn't going anywhere, and it's not nearly as deadly as we thought. Time to let life resume.

Unfortunately, I fear that when the power 5's start dropping out then it will basically push everyone out or put huge liabilities on the ones left standing

If the Big Ten and Pac-12 decide to cancel fall sports, they should also cancel all in-person classes for the remainder of the year as well. Because canceling football due to liability while also allowing school to continue unabated is the very height of hypocrisy.

This will be devastating for the Pac 12 if the Big 12, SEC, and ACC play. The Big Ten will recover but it will take a while. The Pac 12 was barely holding on to relevancy as it is with weak recruiting, attendance, and tv ratings. This will only widen the gap. The ACC and Big 12 have the most to gain from playing. The SEC is already about as good as you can get so the excess talent from the midwest and west coast will filter down to the Big 12 and ACC. The Big 12 might be able to return to its past glory if they could convince both Arizona schools, Colorado, and Utah to join them.

Power 5 AD made it clear: doesn’t mean SEC, ACC and Big 12 are playing, just means they’re not giving in just yet. They’re continuing to move forward.
Science and medical professionals (and ultimately, university presidents) will dictate what they do.

Good. More press coverage for the SEC

Spoke to a Group of Five AD: "When the Big Ten cancels, we're expecting to be on call within a day." Everyone is watching the Big Ten. There could be some patience to see who joins them. But that's the domino everyone is watching.

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) has drafted a letter that he plans to send to Big Ten presidents, identifying reasons why he believes college football should be played.
Sasse is a former university president.

Come on down baws. We can let Nebraska have a nostalgic beat down of Mizzou and/or Aggy.
