Not overly concerned. Stevenson had pretty much taken over as the nickel corner anyways. Still have Webb and Ringo is legit.

I think he’s a Miami kid so may be thinking he can get immediately eligible by crying corona concerns and play at da U

I thought Wilson was very good.

He wasn't good enough to supplant Webb. And the more experience Stevenson got, more time was carved out for him on the field.

The issue is depth.
LSU put us in dime. An injury to a DB can leave you very vulnerable when you have 6 DBs out there. Is it any surprised that Webb and Wilson were picked on more than any other DB last season?

I still feel better about DB than any time the Last 20 years. But at positions like OL and DB where your "starters" can go 5 or 6 deep, we need to be stacked beyond the starters.

It’s simple. He wants to play more.

Its so crowded back there he wasn't going to get meaningful playing time.

This is such a typical fan thing to say.

Wilson played a bunch last year as a Redshirt Freshman and played pretty dang well. What makes us think he wouldn’t have continued to compete for starting time? He was a solid player for us, and even though our defensive backfield is solid, I don’t know why we think it’s cool to talk unnecessary and inaccurate shite about him on his way out the door.

Do you remember Derek Lott?

He left preseason 2012.

Do you think our DE could have used Derek Lott in the SECCG?

What makes you so sure it is inaccurate or unnecessary or that it is "shite" ?

If he's the bee's knees, and likely to excel at UGA, then why would he turn his back on us? Why shouldn't we be allowed to feel betrayed, especially if he really is the bee's knees. If he's lost on the depth chart, however, then it's easier for the fans to wish him well on the way out the door.

I think you are just looking for something to be pissed off about today.

Looking at the scholarship numbers at CB and STAR, at CB I see Daniel, Stokes, Campbell and Ringo that will likely play in front of him. At STAR, he's got Stevenson and Webb in his way. Without some injuries, his playing time likely goes down. He can transfer home to the U or F(A/I)U and likely be immediately eligible.

Why does some 20 year old kid owe you anything?

Yes, that’s always the way I am

I mean, he’s not Tyrique Stevenson, but I just don’t understand why we act like he sucks or there’s no chance he plays for us going forward instead of just saying he was a decent contributor and wish him well going forward. Who knows what his family situation is back home? He did say he wanted to be back home during this time.

Can't believe this thread is so negative about this kid. He was pretty solid when he played...hope the best for him. None of us know his situation

Personally I’ve got nothing against him. Just like I said I think football wise his loss isn’t devastating. He was a decent player but didn’t make many huge plays (yet). He may well do that in the future. I hope he does as long as it’s not against us. But idk why so many claim we bashed him or whatever. No one said he was an untalented bum.

Webb, Cine, Stevenson, Lecounte, Stokes, Campbell, etc.... We are loaded.

I'm not bashing on him at all. But he sees the writing on the wall. This is roster management guys. When you recruit how we have, you lose great players to keep excellent ones. We have to get down to 85 scholly players. This actually helps us accomplish this.

I hope the guy transfers to Miami or FIU or S. Florida and lights it up. Anywhere but FU.

In the past we've had waves of skill position guys to throw at defenses but it might not be such a bad thing to whittle it down to a core of dudes and just get them reps. Provided we can stay healthy there of course.

Part of the issue with recruiting as well as we do. You can only put 11 out there.... Ringo isn’t going to wait his turn to be in a Dime package.

Kid made a business decision. He saw the competition, and he determined his best prospects were elsewhere.

I hope he's right. He's good enough to start on all but a handful of teams.

This tells me the secondary is going to be every bit as good or better than we thought.

I will almost always worry about OL and DB depth.

That said, it would be a great sign if Wilson thought he was getting passed by Ringo, Burns, or Smith. Hell... maybe Poole is improving.

Webb, Lecounte, Daniel, Stokes and Campbell will be gone after 2020. We are loaded now, but depth does not look so hot next year. Divaad Wilson would have definitely seen major playing in playing in 2021, but it's water under the bridge now.

Exactly. The DB cupboard wasn't bare last year and the kid played every game. No way we are just as good without him
