The SEC West was the strongest I’ve ever seen in 2010. Crazy that Auburn made it through that gauntlet, but they refused to lose.
I think this is what makes an elite team elite. Those teams we still talk about years later were the ones that just wouldn't lose. They're the ones that are the most fun to watch because they will leave everything they have on the field to get the W.

Obviously biased here but I think the 2018 Rose Bowl has to make the top ten wouldn't you think?

I’ll admit it sucked for Bama fans and I mean SUCKED, but it was one of those moments that will live in lore...unfortunately.

App State beating Michigan in The Big House.
Michigan State beating Michigan on a blocked punt as time expired.
Georgia Tech beating Florida State on a blocked field goal.

The thing that stuck out to me the most was Reggie Bush. I don't think I'll ever understand how someone could absolutely dominate CFB like that, and then never amount to much in the NFL. I know there is a long list of people like that (Tebow, JFF, and even Vince Young to a lesser extent), but Reggie just seems to be on another level in that conversation. He was a thrill to watch in college.
Also - what the heck was the Marshall Mathers thing, and how did I miss that?
ETA: I had also forgotten just how egregious the Clemson pick play vs. Bama was.

I don’t think anything can pass up the kick six.
The ending is definitely legendary, but as far as an epic showdown between two evenly matched teams in a game with the highest of stakes, I'd go with the 2012 SEC Championship Game as the best Southeastern Conference game of the century so far. Whoever won that game was going to face Notre Dame for the national title. That second half was freaking epic and intense.

That is an OUTSTANDING football game, standing on it's own merits.
Kick 6 is the summation of Auburn's entire 2012 season. They had so many come from behind games. They came back from State, Aggies, had a miracle against Georgia and then the arguably one of the craziest finishes in all of CFB against Alabama. What a year for them!

Saban was asked after the game about playing in the national championship game. His response was that they just played the NC game.

Probably right.
So much drama, and it was in the Rose Bowl and Keith Jackson's last game

No it wasn’t. They lost their entire defense or most of it that won them the title the year before. Big difference. LSU might have that problem this year on the offensive side of the ball.

1. LSU hammering Clemson. The team that had been bullying the SEC (on a 29 game win streak) meets a real football team and gets spanked.
