If they are going to allow lower capacity just let the students attend and spread them out. It's college football so let those currently attending get to experience the games. Just my opinion

That makes a lot of sense actually. They'll all be going to parties and doinking each other in the dorms anyway. The additional exposure for them would be negligible.

No point in spreading them out. College students aren't "social distancing" anyways.

Actually like that idea even though I’m not a student anymore.
Would suck to miss a college football season while you’re there

Use halftime to disinfect the seats after the students leave to go party then let paying customers come in for the second half.

I've been saying this for a while. As others have noted, if the kids are in town for classes, the additional exposure from going to a football game and skipping every other seat is minimal. (If the kids aren't in town for class, we won't be playing football.)
The article said that Kentucky could seat all its season ticket holder at 50% capacity, but not everyone can do that. Even if you can find a seat, of some sort, for every season ticket holder (and maybe there would be enough that opt out to make this possible), all seats are not created equal, and you're going to have to refund a boatload of money to folks that are bumped out of premium seating. At some point, the refunding and re-seating process becomes so onerous that it's easier just to tell them all that we're going students only, and everyone else gets a refund or credit for next year.
