If the timing is right ( I hope it is ) I could see Cristobal wanting it

I used to be firmly in the Dabo-or-bust camp, but after seeing how he's handled the last few months vs. how Saban handled it, I'm leaning toward Cristobal. Not that I don't think Dabo will or should replace Saban, he's just better off at a place like Clemson for a while.

Matt Campbell is recruiting well at Iowa State, has had good defenses considering the talent available, and his squads have given the best teams in the conference loads of trouble. If not Dabo he’s my guy

Nobody knows this. And I'm ready for the rest of us to get comfortable discussing the future of the program without covering ears and la-la-la'ing.

I would have never believed it, but I think Mario will be one of the top 2 or 3 choices.

Not that I am big fan of stark but if he can get two National Title's in the next 4yrs off what could be Saban's last run.
This combined with it being two tenures at Alabama. Plus his recruiting of TUA now followed by Young.
I would think he would be more considered than he would have been previously considered.
But the name that I think sits first today depending on what happens with at Tenn would be Pruit.
I think he's the favorite to replace Saban unless he has great success over there real soon.
Because I think BAMA needs the more disciplinarian type HC that would make a more Saban transition than new direction.

Dude, please don’t scare me like that again. After last year’s injury bug,
when I saw your thread title I felt that same sinking feeling again in the pit of my stomach....

I think I put the wheels on the Cristobal wagon. Glad to see others are riding with me

I can't believe Matt Campbell got that many downvotes. He's a helluva coach. The fact he's gotten the level of talent he has to Ames, IA is a great achievement.

Cristobal has got to stop losing games he shouldn't lose. Watching Arizona State just maul the Ducks for 3 quarters before a furious rally fell short was painful. Maybe a lot of that was Herbert at QB. He never impressed me. Mario has done a good job if you overlook the brain fart games here and there.

I wasn’t ever impressed with Herbert either. He would make some great plays and then follow that up with stupid stuff and inconsistency.

That and Herm Edwards can coach and has a great staff with him. Marv Lewis is the de facto DC. Marv is one of the greatest defensive minds in all of football.
