The thing with Cristobal is I think our Florida recruiting would only improve if he's the head coach. And, that would hurt every team that comes into Florida for top tier players.

Cristobal has got to stop losing games he shouldn't lose. Watching Arizona State just maul the Ducks for 3 quarters before a furious rally fell short was painful. Maybe a lot of that was Herbert at QB. He never impressed me. Mario has done a good job if you overlook the brain fart games here and there
One way we are incredibly spoiled under Saban is how few completely flat games against significantly inferior teams we’ve had. Since 2009 I can only count a few. Rocky block, 2014 Arkansas, 2015 Arkansas, 2015 UT, 2016 Ole Miss

I don’t believe our recruiting would dip much, or at all with Mario. He’s still kinda learning how to coach, but he took over a mess at Oregon and has them playing physical. I think Dabo would be the first choice (not so sure he would take it) and Mario would be the second or third.

Matt Campbell is recruiting well at Iowa State, has had good defenses considering the talent available, and his squads have given the best teams in the conference loads of trouble. If not Dabo he’s my guy
What's he won? Until he actually wins something, there's no way he is even in the f**king discussion.

I can't believe Matt Campbell got that many downvotes. He's a helluva coach.
Give me a f**king break. He hasn't won shite. He hasn't even come close to winning shite. 3-9, 8-5, 8-5, 7-6. At Iowa State. Of course he's gonna get downvoted to oblivion.
This is the University of Ala f**king Bama. It's the dumbasses on the other side of the state that hires mediocre coaches from Iowa State.

Matt Campbell and P.J. Fleck are northern guys. Not sure they would fit in the South or know how to recruit here.

Honestly, I don't like the idea of taking a midwestern coach unless he's already proven something in the southeast.

Thats too far off to worry about.
BOL poster: "I spoke to a HS asst not long ago who said Saban asked Xavian Sorey (recruit) if he knew who Bobby Bowden was. Sorey said yes, and Saban asked if he knew how old Bowden was (80) when he retired, then said I'm looking to smash that."

I've said for awhile its CMC. Dabo rubbed me the wrong way years back, where as CMC has built a powerhouse the Pacific NW.

Saban isn’t a southern either so recruits must be more concerned about the character of man

Cristobal if it was right now.
Pruitt wait and see in a few years but who knows.
Dabo will not be Saban's replacement. Maybe the man after the man, but probably never at this point.

Yep. That window is likely already closed.

Dabo's been at Clemson for over 17 years. You really think he's going to leave at 27 years if he's still winning?

No. I don't see it happening, and do not think it will ever happen, but I'd never say never.
In 2003-04 would you believe that in 2020 that LSU's savior Nick Saban would be at Alabama, having won 5 titles and counting for us?

I want a guy that has his school punching way out of their weight class

If you have The Iowa State Cyclones playing borderline top-25 football the last 3 years you are probably a good coach

What coaches have “won something” and how many are an actual possibility?
Current coaches with a Power-5 conference championship or NY6 Bowl (or better) bowl win
Saban (ours)
Dabo (my #1)
Mullen (not leaving)
Ed O (Not leaving)
Kirby (Not leaving)
Jimbo (not leaving)
Ryan Day (1 year at OSU and probably not leaving)
Scott Frost (not leaving)
David Shaw (not leaving)
James Frankin (I think he’s a good coach but also an idiot)
Gus (frick no)
Tom Herman (frick no)
Clay Helton (frick no)
Chip Kelly (frick no)
Harbaugh (frick no)
Mario Cristobal (Want)
Brian Kelly (probably not leaving. Decent coach)
Paul Chryst (good Coach. Not leaving)
Mike Gundy (Decent Coach. Not leaving)
Kirk Ferenzt (Nah)
Lincoln Riley (good coach but he’d probably have to flop in the NFL first before coming here)
Gary Patterson (good Coach, don’t want)
