I agree.
He's also one of the few QBs who are still in the top25 for QB efficiency from that era even as all these new systems like the RPO make it easy. 5 QBs made the top25 last year alone, but Danny is still sitting there from 20+ years ago.
Unfortunately, that probably ends after this upcoming season as 4 or 5 more RPO QBs make the top25.

He still holds several Florida and sec records too.

He gets plenty of respect imo. It was just 25 years ago, so not as big a deal to the younger crowd who never saw him play.

He never gets mentioned in the goat discussions on here and he should.

How many disrespecting posts were made?? Dude's been out of college for more than a minute. He should however, get plenty of respect for his time as a gator QB. After that.... not so much.

He's 1-2 against the Great Patrick Nix, so he's not half bad.

One of the greatest college QBs of all time. Even a greater human being.

Truly a stand-up guy from what I heard as well. Even though he whooped us, he'll always have my respect

Disagree with you 100%.
He was one of my favorite players ever that was not a State player.
He had the best touch of any SEC QB period.
Great college QB.

Imagine being a QB coached by Saints-era Ditka, like he wasn't bad enough with the Bears lmao. Heath Shuler was another SEC great who fell victim to him with the Saints

Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (1996)

One of the all time greats for me

I think one of the reasons he doesn't get as much respect as deserved is because it's so damn hard to spell his last name. It'll be the same for Tua in like 20 years.
