quote:

You can sign em if you want to, Danny. You know what they do with your autographs after you sign, Danny?

Sell em.

Sell em for drugs."

-Spurrier, 1996

You left out the best part...

Danny Wuerffel: Do they really coach?

Ole ball coach: No, but they could.

Wuerffel was incredibly accurate passer and Spurrier’s Gator offense was way ahead of the SEC at the time.
I know Wuerffel was on the ‘93 team but I thought Terry Dean was the starter that year.

As a player, DW was special in 2 ways:

He was one of the few QBs who could survive (and thrive) in the Spurrier meatgrinder of criticism.

He threw the best deep fade on a corner route in college football history. If the WR got a clean release and the OL gave him 1.5 seconds it was an automatic 6 from 30 yards in.

As a man, DW walked the ultimate walk, dedicating his entire life and career to supporting those less fortunate than himself.
