Why would he go to Georgia if Newman is as good as advertised? Or does Newman only have one year of eligibility?

Newman only has 1 year but this causes problems if Daniels is immediately eligible because it screws Newman. Either way it means Vandergriff (Ga 5* commit to UGA) is now a soft commit and likely ends elsewhere.

Put down the moonshine.

Daniels likely is not eligible this year; in fact, I'm pretty certain I read the NCAA is not giving out waivers for this year at all. So he sits and Newman plays.

Daniels and Vandagriff battle for the starter job in 2021; ideally, Daniels wins it and BVG gets his feet wet while preserving his redshirt. Daniels turns pro after the 21 season and BVG starts in 22.

Not every 5 star coming in is a pussy scared of competition.

Just look at Jarrett Guarantano. He stuck around even though he got his job taken.
