I would say Burrow still did a better job in his win because Manziel isn't what won A&M the 2012 game, the defense was (+3 turnover margin, intercepted McCarron in the endzone on the final drive, held Lacy under 100 yards rushing)

I cannot remember Burrow ever needing to throw a jump ball in heavy traffic out of desperation. That was Manziel's bread and butter play.
Maybe in 2013. In 2012, he had Evans, Swope (who is still A&M's career leader in almost every stat) and Nwachukwu.

It scares me to think A&M fans actually believe this.
Manziel played great vs Bama, and a lot of unlikely plays rolled A&M's way, and it was just enough to allow a lesser team to beat a greater team.
Burrow played great vs Bama, practically no ridiculous plays rolled LSU's way, and it took premature celebration by the defense to create a final score one can pretend in ignorance was the result of a close game.
Those two games were close enough to find some stats favorable to Manziel, but looking at his entire heisman season vs Burrow's entire heisman season are not remotely close. Now you could say A&M was a much worse team than LSU's overall, and Manziel must have been doing more in his role than Burrow was required to do in order to get the success that the respective teams had, but thats an argument with a hint of truth that's simply impossible to precisely measure.
The only fact I would put forward in this debate is that Burrow did everything that was required of him to lead his team to the greatest, most dominant season in the history of the sport, and Manziel did not.

I love this thread. Texag7-50 gets to combine LSU and Bama together. He must be extremely aroused...

Passing, yes.
Rushing you are correct, but not for the reason you think. (Manziel was the SEC's leading rusher in 2012)
There are only two quarterbacks in college football history that accomplished the following two feats in the same season.
20 passing and 20 rushing TD
3000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing
They are:
-Johnny Manziel in 2012
-Lamar Jackson in 2016

I'm not referring to any stats other than W/L

Meanwhile, LSU's defense gives up two long touchdown bombs, one the result of LSU trying to change the play and being caught out of position, the other just straight up getting burned while inexplicably playing bump and run at the end of the game.
And before all that, the special teams sling Waddle out into the open field by his facemask giving him a clear lane to a punt return touchdown.
Thats 21 points Burrow had to overcome and in many situations when a team gives up that many quick, easy scores, they lose.

Damn Tebow had everything except the 105 yards rushing in his sophomore season.

This is a new level of TDS, even for a racist like you.
But yeah, no one doubts Manziel was an elite CFB QB. Incidentally, he'll also be remembered as a loser and for being one of the biggest wastes of talent...maybe ever.

You literally don't know what the word literally means. I assume LSU didn't punt one time all season? You can say he was good, great, fantastic, won every award, set a ton of records etc. but they weren't "literally" unstoppable. And yes he should be considered better than Cam.

I will admit to one of the aggies' biggest claims: JF easily blew up his pro day, his stats there were incredible. Especially considering he was wearing shorts & a t shirt & playing against a broom. Give me one SEC HC, absent the aggies & LSU, who would chose JF over JB to be his team's QB. Give us the college football records JF broke. JB.
