I presume that if a player states that he is fearful by playing football (or basketball or______) that at this point there is nothing a school can do about that scholly. Its not going to be revoked...not worth the hell the coach/school would catch. So why do v they need a union...they have publicity and Karens to carry their water

I would like to officially apologize to Ole Miss fans for defending Wolken during their investigation. You still cheated and got caught, but He is the biggest Piece of shite pussy I’ve ever seen on the internet. The fact that he has a national gig is absolutely embarrassing. He is one of the dumbest human beings to ever walk the earth and he has the worst liberal takes on everything about sports. I literally hope he gets covid.

Let's not forget one of Dan Wolken's greatest hits - his heroic defense of Santino Marchiol. (The racist ex-A&M linebacker who quit right after Sumlin was fired, made up false accusations of impropriety, then was caught on video calling his ex-teammates monkeys after trying to be immediately eligible at Sumlinzona...he was kicked off the team, tried to walk on at Colorado so he could get his face bashed in at Kyle this fall, then got kicked off again)

WOKEn has been tweeting essentially rooting for no sports to return ever since the start of this. He has to lead a miserable life.
He’s the douche who tried to stir things up when leach tweeted a couple months ago.

If I were advising college football players, I would tell them not to show up on campus this summer — not until they are allowed to unionize and negotiate for what they need to play safely and for what they want as the key components of an enterprise that enriches coaches, administrators, schools and television networks.
Mr. Wolken please tell enlighten us with what exactly is needed to play college football safely with the virus still around? He has no idea what they would even be needed to "play safe". If players ever unionized for pay it will be hilarious when a majority of the non-power 5 says screw it no football and those players are left without a scholarship.

Well Dan, gonna go out on a limb here, but I’m guessing there’s a lot of players who would like to start playing football so they can continue to work towards the possibility of making millions in the NFL
And hell, I bet a lot of them even...hear me out here, like playing football. People keep forgetting that the “modern day plantation” is 100% voluntary.
You rarely see a player complain, and for good reason. I have a buddy who had to go to JUCO because of grades, but ended up at kansas after. I visited him a few times and trust me he wasn’t complaining. They had it pretty good, and that was about 15 years ago.

I think he posts those hot takes on Twitter and then comes here to get an erection from all the reactions.

Didn't Wolken mention the Rant in an article that he wrote? What a bitch!!!!!

Here's how effective Dan Wolken is:
A&M in trouble because of allegations by ex-linebacker Santino Marchiol
6 days later
This is bullshite! How is he kicked off the team after I DAN WOLKEN took up his cause?!!

If players unionize, I’m in favor of yanking scholarships and making college sports an open tryout, and awarding scholarships based on merit and academic success.

Who is this f'in pissant and is there any reason to care about his idiotic ramblings?

He's right
Now is when the Players in CFB & MBB have the most leverage
Losing the NCAA Men's Basketball Tourney has brought G5 Athl Depts to the brink of financial ruin, follow that up with a well timed Strike on P5 CFB and that will cause the financial crisis to spread to P5 schools at the bottom half of the P5
If the Players want unpunished transfers and enhanced Stipends that pay them more money now is the time to organize & act
The NCAA is never gonna treat Revenue Athletes as fairly as they deserve to be treated given their importance and how much money they generate, the NCAA will only throw them crumbs when forced to (like the increase in food that Athletes get), the NCAA only acted after it became an embarrassment that was Broadcast on Natl TV
A strike now would be beautifully timed, and would force the Conferences and the NCAA into a corner
What can I say, I've always been pro labor and anti management
