Doesn't compare to the dominance over LSU, that's for sure.
Always on the brain.
He's not wrong dude and you brought it up.

the following achievements are important when establishing dominance?
Over an in-state rival in regards to the status of each program? Absolutely.
When Nick Saban took over, Bama had lost to Auburn 5 consecutive years and was an afterthought. Many proclaimed Bama to be the new "little brother" in the state and laughed when we hired Saban. He flipped the script. Auburn is nothing more than an occasional thorn in Bama's side these days and has gone through 3 coaches over that span (and many in and around the program want to make it 4). Auburn has truly never been more irrelevant on a national scale in my lifetime.
Call that whatever you want. It's pure, unadulterated, domination.

Imagine if Auburn got to play Tennessee every year instead of UGA

From Josh Moon of the Montgomery Advertiser:
quote:
Let's be real here, Nick Saban's reputation is mostly hype.
He was overrated at Michigan State, overrated at LSU and rated about right in Miami. He's an average coach who, through mostly media attention, has garnered this reputation of being a great coach.
In truth, he's not as successful as Auburn's Tommy Tuberville. The two have roughly the same coaching records and Tuberville has a better record in head-to-head meetings.
There's not an Alabama fan alive who believes Tuberville is anything other than an average coach. And maybe he is. But that leaves a serious question: If Tuberville is considered average, how has Saban managed to achieve his big reputation?
The answer is simple -- the media.
When he needed the press for his personal advancement, we were great guys to have around.
He played up the hype every chance he got early in his career, managed to get his name mentioned in a variety of different coaching searches and was just good enough to avoid an incredibly bad season that would've hurt his reputation.

Is this the same Josh Moon that came out of hiding with “inside” information from the AU Administration when he claimed Auburn was courting Bob Stoops while trying to reduce Gus’ contract behind the scenes?

Sweet. I agree with you completely.
I was told repeatedly that those were bullshite metrics when comparing teams for best season ever.
