Where? I haven’t left off anything. LSU fans are the only ones cherry picking data.

Why wont you compare things on a level playing field?

That’s why I said there’s no definitive way to compare. How many wins at ole miss are worth a win at UGA or LSU. Also, one has coached twice the number of seasons as the other. There’s no way to account for either variable. Fwiw I think O is the perfect fit for LSU and has accomplished more than Smart since his time there.

Have you forgotten that Kirby and his awful in-game decisions are the reason you've lost the last 2 to Alabama?
Not your players' fault. Kirby's fault.

lol what was his bad call in the natty? Do you not think bama won those games because they had the better team and coach?

You have ignored the data that counts.
D1 Football coaches get ranked based mostly on their peak of success, the program they end up associated with not on their first HC jobs or previous interims. Nobody gives a shite what Nick Saban did at Toledo or even Michigan State. Those were jobs that earned him opportunities at LSU and Bama. Same thing with Bear Bryant, Bobby Bowden, and Woody Hayes. Nobody gives a shite that Bowden went 42-26 at West Virginia or that Bryant went 60-23 at Kentucky.

Sure there is, they've been at similar jobs with similar resources for similiar amounts of time.

How is Ole Miss relevant to ranking the coaches today?

O has been a head coach six years to Kirby's four.

So you’d say coaches are ranked with how far they’ve elevated the program they’re with then?

Because it’s part of O’s resume.

If you decide to leave off the 2 interim years, sure. He coached 8 games his interim year at USC, which is more than half the season.

Maybe. That part looked pretty even to me.

coach?
Obviously.
Georgia had Alabama down for the count, and Kirby lets them off the mat both times. Please continue with the litany of excuses.

Well so is being a line coach for the Saints but that isn't relevant.

An interim coach has little to no control so I left those years off.
The parameters actually favor Kirby in that situation (extra season, weaker division).

Give it up, baw. You have been destroyed in this thread. You are arguing just to try and save face at this point, but you look worse with each post. Third best coach in the SEC is still pretty darned good for Kirby and UGA. You can be happy with that as you said.

LOL as an LSU fan I hope Georgia keeps Kirby forever.

Not really. There’s a subjective question about which coach is better. There’s no definitive way to answer. Career winning percentage favors Smart. Best season favors O. Not my fault LSU fans get so worked up over someone else having a different opinion.

Not like they got similar jobs under similar circumstances at basically the same time or anything.

I’ve already said O has been better if we are only comparing current schools or best season. When it comes to career winning percentage, then the nod would go to Smart.

I care that Bryant went 60-23 at UK. He is still our winningest coach. Stoops will pass that God willing.
It points out how good the Bear was.

As a Kentucky fan, it makes sense that you would care about Bryant and his time at Kentucky. However, that is not what makes him top 3 CFB coach of all time. Some top coaches spent their entire careers as HC of one program while others had prior HC jobs at mediocre programs or smaller schools. The one thing they all have in common is championships, Heisman winners, memorable seasons, above average records against other top coaches and programs of their time, and elite winning percentages at the program where they accomplished those things.
