outside of Indian incarnations that still exist. In Arkansas, I would say the Rogers Mounties. There's nothing wrong with the mascot itself, but I'm surprised they've stuck with the logo for so long. This is one of the larger schools in the state.

No, but I would think a high school logo with a man smoking a pipe probably is. Maybe it's just me.

In suburban Birmingham, Shades Valley High School has had a mountie mascot since 1948. For decades, the mascot was a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer (mountie). For some reason, the school decided that was not appropriate, and adopted a hillbilly looking mountain man mascot.

The way the idiot left is I mildly shocked the patriots are not considered offensive.
My college changed their "offensive" mascot while I was there in the mid 90s. When the hope scholarship caused the colleges to be renamed universities we went from Colonials to Bobcats. They spent tons of money on the name change and mismanaged it poorly enough to piss everyone off. They wanted to honor Flannery Oconner til it was pointed out that it would be shortened to Flac U. They settled on Georgia College and State University. Then the administration had the school paper do a contest to pick a mascot. Kamikaze Squirrels won in a landslide so the administration picked the generic Bobcat. The colors went from Brown and Gold to the more gang friendly Navy and Forrest Green. The whole thing was a waste of effort. The move from quarters to semesters messed up people's graduation tracks and that's to Hope the school was flooded with people that did not need to be there.

That's nothing. The Ozark High School Hillbilly carries a moonshine jug marked XXX and shoots a shotgun when they score a TD. It's awesome.

Fort Smith Southside school board voted several years ago to get rid of the Rebel mascot and Dixie as the fight song.
They are now the Mavericks.

I have taken 18 hours worth of classes from UT that transferred to GCSU. UT didn't want to pay for me to attend, GCSU did.
