And throughout Texas, many high schools still have mascots that reflect the Confederacy, Native Americans and other stereotypes from decades and centuries past.

Here are 9 in Texas high school football that stand out the most. In some cases, the name isn’t offensive until it’s taken in context with the image of the logo and/or mascot.

I love this shite.

This is like Martians coming here, taking over, renaming Earth "Gadzooks" and us demanding to be called "First Gazookians".

They should be called whatever they called themselves before we got here, but wait, they cannot do that because they were several hundred disorganized pissant little hobo tribes.

That would have required a higher-than-Stone Age civilization, which they didn't have.

I love the logo for this team, scheduled to restart their football program at the Div II level as an independent.

Not sure if politically incorrect or not...but the Laurel Hill Hoboes. Mascot was a cartoon guy with tattered clothes / hat and bandana/sack on a stick over his shoulder

That's Furman located in Greenville, SC. Connor Shaw was the TE coach there for a short while.

Yes but Furman was at one time the Christian Knights. So had F.U.C.K. as initials. Lasted about a year. Big cheer is still FU all the time
