LSU has two things going for it in the debate, number of ranked wins and the fact that they went undefeated.

What LSU, however, doesn't have going for it is dominance. Texas, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama all played LSU close. Dominance is what I look for most when it comes to GOAT status. Not resume, not strength of schedule, dominance relative to the time period in which a nominee for GOAT status is playing.

Until a team makes a run like '95 Nebraska, no one will be able to surpass them. 2018 Alabama came very close due to how they ran roughshod over everyone on their schedule. The 2018 SEC Championship ended their argument and the national championship game eliminated all doubt they weren't worthy.

2019 LSU has an argument but it's nowhere near as strong as 1995 Nebraska.

I still think this may be generous...we just got hot at the right time.

Well gosh, I really thought LSU fans were just going to up and agree with me.

Because let me tell you, I really consider the opinion of a fanbase who calls a 5 pt win an "arse whipping" reasonable.

That defense shut down the 2nd and 3rd best offenses in the country on neutral fields.

They were hot at the right times. I am not trying to take away from LSU's season it was awesome glad someone won it besides clemson and bama but acting like its the best team ever is crazy.

This coming from someone who considers a game that he never led in and never had a chance to even tie in the second half as "close".

Every team has "stains".

Sure.

But you are talking about teams this year, while at the same time trying to claim you are the greatest of all time.

Then make your case for the other teams in the running. We all agree that LSU '19, The U '01 and Nebraska '95 are in a league of their own. Make a case for the other 2 over LSU.

You mean the offense never had a chance to tie or take the lead. The defense could have done so.

5 point victory no matter how you want to ignore that fact.

Still waiting for any LSU fan to have the balls to address what 29-0 would be called. So far, 0 balls found in your fanbase.

When you pile up individual awards, you can take away how good a team is. Especially when that team goes 15-0.

LSU fans didn’t start this, Yahoo sports did. We have as much argument to this as anyone, and hell of a lot more than a bunch of bama nattys. That Nebraska team was dominant, and Miami was talented so who knows, but at least someone in representing the SEC in this

2018 A1abana and 2019 LSU played the same opponents in the SECCG/Playoff. Let’s compare.

Georgia:
LSU won 37-10 (+27)
A1abana won 35-28 OT (+7)

Oklahoma:
LSU won 63-28 (+35)
A1abana won 45-34 (+11)

Clemson:
LSU won 42-25 (+17)
A1abana lost 44-16 (-28)

LSU (+79)
A1abana (-10)

But you all were close and LSU wasn’t

Everything I listed was from 2001 Miami or 1995 Nebraska.

Try again.

They played well but Oklahoma should have never been in the playoffs.

You forgot the head to head and that LSU got dominated 29-0.
