When LSU & UF did their 2/2, it only impacted them.
same thing could be said about us. & put the DSOR back on the CORRECT yearly rotation with the Dawgs hosting in odd years.
& put it back in Nov. where it's been played 116/122 times (from what I've just read).
Also, it puts UGA hosting GT & Aub. in opposite years while Aub. would host Ala. & UGA in opposite years.
Long story short, what the SEC has done has screwed up this rivalry's history BIG TIME!!!

Personal lives would be impacted much more than a canceled football season
Think about it they already postponed olympics that was july
Player safety will be number 1 priority. It’s the reason cws was cancelled you couldn’t ask baseball players to start back up and risk injury for a shortened season
NCAA will have to allow proper timeframe for teams to get ready and conditioned
If this thing lingers into late may and June I could definitely see a shortened season
Eliminate some non conf games is possible
It might be a ragged start for teams this season losing valuable reps and workouts
Best case scenario is they get back on track beginning of summer with NCAA allowing coaches the ability to coach players all summer

If football season is canceled, Alabama will just claim the national title.

With makeup games it will be Saturday/wednesday games. More football/injuries yet more football to watch. Can anyone go 30-0?
Saturday and Wednesday’s would be separate seasons.

Such goals you have.

For example, LSU would go to Bama again in 2021, after having played there last year. That's two years in a row.

IF the season is canceled what happens to the Sr's and RS-Jr's, incoming freshmen in the 2021 class and 85 scholarships?

Football season won't be canceled. There isn't unlimited people to catch it for this thing to keep infecting people.
And you mean 2 seasons in a row, not 2 years.

It's not going to be canceled. There is a curve, and it has a limited amount of time.
They are trying to "flatten" the curve they say, so that the cases are spread out over many months. If everyone was to purposely get sick today, the entire thing would be over in a month or so. But they are trying to make it last many more months to reduce the number of people who need care at once.
But either way, come football season the curve will either be over, or it will be on the backend of it.
There really isn't a scenario where people just keep getting sick over and over unless it's another virus.

No, it's not. It's two seasons in a row.

Auburn will probably fire Gus for not winning enough games

Or if it mutates, similar to the Spanish Flu.
quote:
The second wave of the 1918 pandemic was much deadlier than the first. The first wave had resembled typical flu epidemics; those most at risk were the sick and elderly, while younger, healthier people recovered easily.
By August, when the second wave began in France, Sierra Leone, and the United States, the virus had mutated to a much deadlier form.
The fact that most of those who recovered from first-wave infections had become immune showed that it must have been the same strain of flu, however the second wave was far more deadly. The most vulnerable were adults who were young and fit.
There's also a chance that it goes away like the seasonal flu and returns again next year (without a successful vaccine).
quote:
But if it is seasonal, it doesn’t mean Covid-19 goes away after the summer. “It likely isn’t just going to magically go away,” Grubaugh says. “Next winter might end up being the big winter.”
And if it is seasonal, it’s still dangerous. It would be like the flu, “except potentially with a higher case fatality rate,” Rasmussen says. “Which is definitely a problem because the seasonal flu kills 30,000 to 60,000 Americans every year. And even if it’s the same case fatality rate of seasonal flu, that still presents a substantial public health burden.”
Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

Yeah, another virus.

Talked about this in another thread. In that case, it would most likely be a shortened season.

Surely they wouldn't cancel the football season because of a hoax would they?
