Look up how liquor distillation works.
Then try to replicate that with whatever you have available to you.
Then get arrested because it's probably illegal where you live.
Making beer and wine is perfectly legal and yields a better product.

Used to make cider in undergrad. Used wine yeast and was able to get alc% up to ~13% and it tasted way better than anything we could get at the piggly wiggly. Made 10 gallon batches, jarred half for still cider and bottled half for sparkling.

Water and sugar. Then mix in some warm fruit juice and yeast. Let sit for a month. Then distill. Pretty simple

Never made cider, myself. Now that we're all under quarantine I might try it. I have a small-sized brewery in my house, so I should try to mix it up.
Did you just do apple cider?

Yeah, we always bought organic so that preservatives wouldn’t kill the yeast, but I’m not sure that matters

Its just corn, barley and water more or less. My buddy's uncle made his own and we'd go out and get several jars at a time back in high school. Im mostly a beer drinker now and when I do drink liquor its bourbon. This quarantine has had me thinking about making my own homebrew, but honestly, considering how cheap it is, this thread legitimately has me considering the possibility of making small batch moonshine. Im sure its still probably illegal to make your own, but if you were to make small batches would anyone really care. Its fairly prevalant at tailgates at UK amongst the folks I hang out with. Id say bourbon is still the king here for tailgate liquor though.
