Nike continues to be linked to the dark underbelly of college basketball recruiting at the trial of attorney Michael AvenattI.
Monday, the fourth day of the trial, a business consultant testified that the Swoosh directed payments to the families and handlers of high school basketball players, and a Nike attorney did not deny the company had made payments to players.
“I’ve never told the government there was no evidence of Nike making payments to players,” Nike attorney Scott Wilson testified Monday.

Let's put that in Cajun: "Mais, I never said there wasn't none, no." for the rare quadruple negative.

This screams back to back SEC Champions for LSU.

Well I don’t want Reebok or adidas. Maybe this will create an opening for Walmart Velcro tennis shoes to start sponsoring some teams.

While I’m a big fan of ADIDAS’s mission and patriotism, I could use one of Nike’s garments on a “bloated” day
.

Since Wade's arrival his teams have shown a real workmanlike quality in grinding out close wins. A Red Wing deal would be the perfect fit. We're just waiting on a strong-arse offer.

The Nike schools do.
They wear it as a misguided badge of honor.
We (A&M) walked away from our Nike/Seattle boondoggle.
We found a better $ deal.
That’s just how our university operates (right or wrong)—cashola.

Wait until they start investigating the “Jordan brand” schools. It will be really bad...

Nike has nearly twice the market share of Addidas and Under Armour combined so they din’t give a rat’s arse.
As for how your university operates, it gives inflated contracts to dudes whose last season record at his prior gig was 5-6. Smooth. To top it off they present him with a mock National Championship trophy at his introductory press conference.

I didn’t say Nike, as a corporation, wasn’t worth more.
I said the deal offered to TAMU by ADIDAS was in a different universe than that offered by Nike.
It was a no-brainer.

I guess Nike doesn’t place too high a value on Aggies.

frick Nike. Hope they get it with both barrels. I will not wear their shite.

It wasn’t that Nike’s deal wasn’t high.
ADIDAS was looking for a brand ambassador and thus paid us an obscene amount.
Regardless, their products (ADIDAS) have been top-notch, and the deal has worked well for all.

They could drop creepy porn lawyer off in New Orleans or BR and those top 5 murder rates would fix this shite.
The NCAA no longer cares.
