All joking aside, I hope your enrollment does goes up. Your school struggled because of those malcontents.

We have an non-mandatory app on our campus for students called Live Safe to locate students and send out alerts during emergencies.

Our app is not used to track attendance.
Bama has the same system and as a parent of a student, I added my contact info and I get alerts from the school (weather/emergency,etc.) just like my kid gets.

I would never support the University tracking students!

quote:

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri is conducting a pilot of the SpotterEDU app with approximately 20 courses this semester. Participation in the pilot, offered to fewer than 2% of MU students, is completely optional. If a student does not want to use the app to track their attendance, they will be required to check in with their professor through an alternate method, such as signing an attendance sheet.

The only SEC school seeing marked decline in enrollment right now is Ole Miss.

Just a shade over 19,000 started the fall semester in Oxford.

Doesn't the school get paid the same regardless if students attend class? Who cares if they attend class? If they don't attend, they'll fail out = student's problem and not the school's responsibility. College is voluntary. This Mizzou thing is weird and head scratching.

Or we could send kids to college who actually want to fricking learn instead of this societal expectation that everyone should go to college. Trades provide a good living as well.

the enrollment has skyrocket over the last 3 years, its not like it was when the protest happened.

Nope.

Freshman classes bottomed out in '17, but 2018/19 clasees are still 25% below where they were in 2015.

Enrollment peaked in '15 > 35k students, yall are still below 30k. Bleeding has stopped but the catch up is still in play & will be for a while.

Curious how that works...

I'm no lawyer but unless they're gonna be providing phones for their students what can they do? Make buying a phone part of tuition costs and send out university issued phones? Smells like a lawsuit.
