We're going to have a badass defense, probably the best in the SEC. Our RBs will be elite and we got Pickens and a bunch of great WRs coming in. Our Oline might decline a bit but neither LSU or Ohio State were world beaters there, and we saw how great they were. The Newman transfer shows that Kirby is getting serious about the offense.

I'm tired of reading 1980 from everyone. This time next year, this is us celebrating.

Let's get this frickin natty.

Yes, I've had a bit to drink.

When you sober up, the first thing you see will be James Coley’s face, and then you will understand.

Unless you have a completely dominant team from top to bottom, you’re likely going to need several pieces to fall into place at the same time. We will see if that’s us next season.

LSU wasn't dominant the entire season. They had many poor performances on defense (Texas, Bama, Ole Miss, etc) but by the A&M game they really stepped up their play and looked like a complete team.

I don't think Georgia needs a dominant team in every aspect to win a championship but the offense needs to be able to step up and play their best football down the stretch. They didn't do so this season.

And Kirby new the offense would not be able to do so. So he game planned with what we had and went 11-1. IMO Kirby’s best coaching so far was the 2019 season.

LSU did not have a totally dominant team. They just outscored every body most of the season. The defense became solid around game 10 of the season.

Let me see who we hire as offensive coaches and then I'll decide to drink the cool aid or not.

Are we even looking for offensive coaches? Not that Kirby and co would announce a search, but I've not really seen anything on it in any other place but here and not even in the DeLoach newsletter...maybe I'm wrong though

We post these threads this time every year to the point I chuckle at them. Of course we CAN; after all, we’re sporting a top 5 team on talent alone. But will we? We’ll see. Coley causes me to doubt 2020-21 more than anything else. I hope I’m proved wrong.

LSU had all the pieces come together...perfect coach meets perfect offensive QB fit.

Like Cam and Gus.

Urban and Tebow.

It happens...but Burrow had an ungodly year. Probably the best in college football history.

It takes special players and time and time again the QB will lead us to the promise land.

61st in total offense
72nd in passing
41st in rushing

Top 5 talent.

Most of us would be fired if we did the equivalent of this at our jobs.

With losing Scott, we absolutely have an official vacancy on the offensive coaching staff.

Coley isn’t going anywhere because he’s a great recruiter and has established relationships. Whether he stays the OC and isn’t relegated to just the QB coach/assistant OC remains to be seen.

But logic says we haven’t filled that coaching vacancy yet because we’re interviewing multiple important candidates for a bigger job.

It's tough to keep coaches on staff who have been demoted if that's the case.

1/3 rd less drops and Coley looks like a competent OC.

I actually wouldn’t take the job as OC if the old one stayed on. I say this because I’ve been there in the workplace several times and it sucks.
