Well that was a nice letter. I'm sad to see him go. I had high hopes for him here. Hopefully he lands himself a better opportunity. The kid is blessed with natural talent.

I don’t understand it. We just got rid of what was unquestionably the most incompetent group of coaches in our program’s history. Why would you bounce now, when the program can only improve?

He has to go seek what God has in store, dude.

Some people like to buy high and sell low.

Probably didn’t think he would get much playing time

I agree. He’s been passed by underclassmen on the depth chart. Don’t blame him for moving on.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had receivers who wouldn’t have been passed by Burks and Knox.

Jones was also passed by Mike Woods.

He don't really want to play. Not willing or has the desire to do what it takes to succeed at that level. He can and has for brief time periods. Poor kid has been hammered on for years by "friends" and family hoping to catch a ride on the way up, meanwhile he began to believe the hype and was catered to and babied by coaches. Behavior and back talk was allowed that cost Smackover a state championship in football. Never got the reality check he needed until he was a state away and on his own.
Hopefully it clicks for him. All and all he's a good kid and always respectful to adults. Could be hell on wheels on the other side of the ball but apparently refuses to make the switch. That's secondhand info so I won't say that's true. At the least, I was hoping he'd stay and get his degree. Former Hog football players have a lot of doors opened for them. I wish Jonathan Modica could sit him down and lay it out for him. Jonathan has done well for himself while at the University and after, and he had far less social, financial, and family support. Excellent kid that I hoped wouldn't fall into the usual traps. Now, he's got a doctorate, doing well and is a hell of a man.

And I'm not downing Jordan. My dad damn near disowned me when I refused to play college baseball. He could not fathom why I'd refuse a scholarship to play at UofA. It's because I hated it. It was his dream, not mine and I was miserable at that point. I LOVED baseball, but by the end of my senior year I was done. Chasing someone else's dream never works out. I can see Jordan feeling the same way. I can sympathize and I hope he does well. And he gets swamped by people and questions every time he comes home.
