Is Sterk's job security scaring off candidates?

New coaches want to have a comfort level that the AD who hires them is going to be around for a while. Sterk is catching a ton of heat for the way this search reportedly is going and, on top of that, his hire of Cuonzo is now looking suspect (in addition to giving Martin the no-fire contract which means we are stuck with him until 2021). The "Make it Right" campaign was a colossal mistake-calling out the NCAA when it was sole decision-maker of the appeal. To get a football coach under these circumstances I am sure, a minimum, the coach is going to demand a big buyout if fired and a minimal amount to be paid by another school if the coach changes jobs.

Based on what? Sterk said it would be done 2 weeks after firing Odom. Everything still indicates Sterk already has his guy.

I hope he does and hope he has been trolling the media with a bunch of fake leaks. I would like to see stability in the athletic department, even Sterk. But if this hire is bungled, Sterk will be canned in short order, IMHO.

This has become a shitshow. He may have had his guy, but his guy was not good enough for the BOC or our fans.

People not associated with the hire are doing the leaks. This is what I don't get. People are freaking out of anonymous people making up rumors with no basis.

Sterk doesn’t seem scared about the search outcome. There’s been no reaction from the Athletic Department from yesterday. Zero.

I like Randy, but Mizzou really has no voice on 101.1. Bernie acts like he's a Mizzou guy, but he's not either. They don't mind covering them when going well, but quick to jump on negatives IMO.

I post on the Tennessee board. Their media had Gruden as a lock. Even in town at a restaurant. They had a thread with an announcement time. And their actual pick was out of left field. Media knows shite.
