Who cares how long he’s been there. Once you make the determination that he isn’t the right guy, you need to move on.

Mississippi State needs to find a coach with Mississippi ties that actually has a love for the state, it’s people and actually wants to coach there instead of using the position as a stepping stone to move as soon as he can put together a good season or two.
People laughed at Coach O but he actually wants to live and coach at LSU and won’t leave LSU until he is forced to by either his health or being fired.
State needs an ex player or someone with Mississippi roots to come in and pour his heart into it. As an LSU fan, I hope they are just good enough to pad our strength of schedule and not actually beat us. Good enough to beat aTm would be ok.

On paper, Moorhead was a slam dunk but for what ever reason it isn’t working and he is man enough to know it. He won’t be fired. If he leaves it is because he steps aside and tries again at a school in a less viscous conference. It’s been rumored that he wouldn’t be back next year for weeks now. I wish him the best. I’m sure all the back channeling has assured him a spot to land

If you’ve watched him coach at all you really wouldn’t have to ask. Terrible fit. I’m not going to say it was a terrible hire(of course it is in hindsight) because at the time all experts praised it as an outside the box good hire. It didn’t work at all. No control, no discipline, no heart. Something had to change and it has.

Year #1 he had Nick Fitzgerald who can't throw.
Year #2 he has a true freshman who isn't ready.

There's not another fanbase in the SEC that would put up with what State has been through the last two seasons.
Losing five games with that defense last year should result in jail time. Y'all just like him because you like State being a guaranteed blowout win every year. Y'all did the same thing with Croom.

Missouri went backwards this year. Beat some teams last year big! Then this year lost to those same teams this year. That is showing not being able to keep the competition the following year. Not sure what the situation will be next year to keep Barry Odom or to replace him.

If this is true, they just created the next Arkansas (no offense) situation. As reported by their own beat writers, they will lose their top 2 recruits and 5 more.
That roster, despite what the few here think, is inexperienced and for the growth they have had this year with that issue... idiots.

What exactly did you put up with?
A QB who could not throw? I get it. But he's a Mullen guy and Mullen couldn't even pass with him.
there were 2 games you could have won with a the ability to throw and catch and you couldn't. 3 games of Fitz completing 43%, 42% and wait for it...33%
You are not winning in the SEC doing that. Not like you think. Your head is in the sand.
Let me compare for you.... Auburn. How many games have they won this year? Who has the better roster? Nix is 57% and they can't do it with better talent.
There is a reason you went to #1 for 5 weeks. Dak could throw it. Even Dan knew he couldn't with Fitz.
