This is one thing i have noticed...that Mac and Shavers seem to have that Tua /Jeudy connection. Maybe because they both play 2nd string...but shavers sees passes from Mac even when 4 11 6 or 17 are on the field

Jeez, why the hell not? I said in another thread that he was good enough to get a scholarship to play QB at Alabama, and he's got 5 potential first round NFL picks at WR and RB.

Huh? He was 18-22 against arky. Bama can win with Mac.

This is why you can't just look at statistics.
How many of those 18 passes were behind the line of scrimmage, handoffs to WRs on overs or short dips and dunks? I even remember some of his behind the ball passes to Jeudy needing Jerry to make a fantastic catch (accuracy).
How many of them were deep passes? I remember the Ruggs TD he overthrew the initial receiver where Ruggs so happened to be behind and get his feet in.
I'm not trying to dump on him, but he hasn't shown us anything to make us overly confident and I'm not a kool-aid drinker.
I hope he proves me wrong.
Still believe we're going to need Taulia to play a half this weekend, because we're probably going to need to go to him against Auburn.
Downvote away lol.

In fairness how many games has he started and been prepped for? We have no sample size at all.

I agree. I'm just going from what I see.
I feel Taulia will bring something different because he is a running threat and seems comfortable in the offense his brother has flourished.
In the end we will see. No room to hide anymore.

This is a fair take IMO. I'm very cautiously optimistic with Mac, but will be ready for us to put Taulia in at the first sign of our offense being benign with Mac.

Well you still be here after Mac performs very well vs. Auburn? I seriously do not understand the Mac hate.

It's like everyone has forgotten that he outperformed Jalen during A-Day as the third string qb. Kid can play. My only gripe about any of this is that we give our backups such limited access to the playbook.

After re watching the MSU game I feel even better about Mac. Really only 2 drives where he was throwing and both had major mistake not by him that prohibited points. He has a good arm and hits the man open.

Sorry, but I have no confidence in Saban turning to his true freshman backup if Mac struggles at Auburn. Last trip there we had a quarterback that crawled in a shell basically refusing to even attempt to throw it to wide open receivers and he wouldn't turn to his true freshman. If he wouldn't turn to Tua I dont believe he will turn to a less experienced guy in Taulia. I think Mac will get it done making this a mute point but if he struggles it probably means we lose to them again.

If Mac doesn't allow emotions to get the best of him I think he's more than good enough to command the game plan and take some shots down the field.
I do fear bad turnovers, though.

Saban told Mac to stop throwing it to Shavers all the time. Mac said, “Tell your defense to stop it."
Mayden must have been the one in coverage.

Are Au's DB's any good. I know their front 7 is legit.

They aren't great but they've played really good ball the second half of the season.

#13 looked like an all-American against UGA.
