Beating Fl3rida Yesterday Sets Us Up for Sustained Dominance

I've been thinking a lot about the game yesterday and what it meant for the future of both programs. I think it probably was a serious setback for Fl3rida and we're set up for a long run over them. Honestly, TN may be a bigger long term threat to us.

The pregame narrative was UGA is vulnerable and Florida is on the rise. Mullen is by the far better coach and Florida is going to end our run on top of the East. Well, that narrative was totally blown up. Mullen made myriad dumb plays from wasted timeouts, sloppy formations, weird offensive calls and bad calls on defense. UGA looked in control and executed a perfect game plan. He looked panicked and overmatched. Kirby owns him now.

This was the year Fl3rida had to win. Their team is loaded with seniors and upperclassmen and it's obvious they lack depth due to bad roster management and poor recruiting from Mullen (just look at the attrition from their class this year). Next year their schedule is weak but they're losing like 17 seniors that are contributors and there are another like 11 draft eligible juniors. This was the most talented team we will see from them in a while. Well lose some but we're stacking 5 stars and are deep as hell. The machine will continue to roll.

Kirby is now 3-0 against Mullen as a head coach and he has unequivocally shaken off the "Mullen is a better game day coach" bullshite, thanks in part to the narrative leading up to the game.

Basically, as far as the effect on the two programs, this win was massive for UGA and a big blow to Fl3rida regardless of how each team finishes.
