A&M's been recruiting him hard for some time.
Kid has elite speed. He's a big-time track recruit as well.
he visited Lsu a week or two back and has an OV scheduled. Is he still a take for Lsu?

Evans is up first, if he doesnt get on board we work our way down at RB

Realistically he’s 2nd I don’t think Gibbs is heavily looking at us

He and Evans are completely different backs.
Achane is undersized and can make plays in the slot, catching out of the backfield, and as a kick/punt returner.
Evans is your traditional every down back. Plus combo of size and power.

We are only taking 1 back this class, we have 24 commits and have about 4-5 other elite guys potentially wanting in, sooooo

Right. Hence in my OP.
More than likely some of the worse commits will be processed if you have this many blue chips wanting in. Regardless, if you truly pass on guys like Achane and Harris then I will be a happy camper.

They would be processing 4 star guys, esp in-state ones to make more space. They didnt load up on reaches or average guys. If they want to process some LBs we would appreciate it. Where is Guillory and Clayton are on their board at DT and RB? Between Harris, Evans, Doyle, Crawford, Achane, Webb, and several others, that sounds like some serious triage

We arent recruiting Clayton actively at all, he's headed out of state.
Guillory is very likely a silent, hasn't been taking any visits.
Things change every day but right now a somewhat realistic finish for us could be Evans, Webb, Guillory, Dumervil with some guys processed out/greyshirted.

No sauces here but from the LSU RB, word is Burch is now a possibility. I am not sure how reliable the info is but he was on an official visit this past weekend vs Auburn. Winning surely punches the ticket for recruiting. Gotta love having the problem of maybe needing to process other commits.

If we miss on Evans I’d be thrilled with this guy.
His film is just sick.

Honestly a guy like Achane would make sense with LSU's class really. We took 2 solid backs last cycle and taking a more change of pace/scat back to compliment them could actually work out pretty well. We would be fine with numbers even if curry transfers next season and we take 2 next cycle.

Maybe if they miss on Evans but I doubt it as I think LSU gets Evans in the end.

Who is LSU going to process?

Don't know, but with the interest and good news we seem to be getting we simply cannot pass on these kind of talented guys. They will do what they have to do when it's time believe that. There will be some that get processed and that's just too bad bc I don't like doing that but it's necessary when you have this many top notch guys wanting in and not enough numbers to sign them without cutting some others. It will all work out in the end and I completely trust O and his staff to make the right moves. Geaux Tigers.

Really depends could be a lot of different guys. Probably easier to name the guys who are 100% safe than name the guys who might get let go

Achane was supposed to visit LSU this weekend but we just pushed it back, maybe means they feel really good about Evans but right now I dont think they want to lead on Achane when we may just have no room.

More good news for A&M in an indirect way.
You Harris, Achane, & Doyle and our class bumps to 278 which is good for 5-9 most years. Add in a piece or two more and we'll be top 5.

I don't think we'll be able to get enough points for top 5. But 6 is definitely in play with rats fleeing the sinking t.u. ship.
