I expected us to drop a game. Definitely NOT to a bad USC team.

Pre-judging an opponent, especially a conference opponent, is one way that upsets happen. South Carolina has some talented players in spite of their record so far. And they have pride and a will to win.

I've said it before, but any SEC game that the fans and media think is un-loseable, is loseable due to lackluster play if nothing else. Partly because the players subconsciously buy into that attitude and momentarily lose their focus, sometimes the coaches do too. It's human nature, but the opponent doesn't always cooperate.

Agree with @wdahlgren. I see his too often in articles and write ups, even recent ones about the upcoming game. ‘Just pound the ball...’as if that wasn’t the game plan vs. South Carolina. Doesn’t always work as planned and efficient or not, it may not put points in the board.

This is the SEC. Ranked or not, all of these teams have dudes. Dudes we recruited that can play on any given day.

To the subject of ‘expectation vs. reality,’ the reality is we live a few hundred miles away from the most dominant program in modern history, maybe ever. We pick up a long time coordinator and UGA blood, mold ourselves out of their success, and expect after a few recruiting class to duplicate. The reality is, it’s not that easy. It took Clemson years to get where they’re at now. And even they hit stumbling blocks.

I don’t know what to make of our team. I know we got the dudes. I think the coaches can coach. But will we put it all together for an entire season? This year? Next year? Ever? I’m not upset about the guys dropping games, its insane to expect undefeated as the stats just don’t support it. But I hate the games they drop they just don’t show up for—that’s the disappointment. Lose like UF did vs. LSU, you can swallow that. But looking like the Little Giants without Spike vs. AU, LSU, UT and now SC is disheartening.

Buckle them chin straps boys, I’m ready to see you get back to work towards your goals with less talking and themes and more progress and action.

Go dawgs!
