Still hate the decision

It was a terrible decision and screwed with hot rods head.

8-13 seconds left, who cares, kick it.

Kirby has a Duelling with Donna streak in him.

Not defending the decision but I think Kirby liked his chances in overtime against a 3rd-string WR QB and didn't want to pin his hopes on a high-variance 60 Yard FG, especially having one blocked in the same direction earlier in the game. Probably still shook from the kick 6

It's like playing golf.

If you stand on the tee and focus on avoiding the water hazard on the left or the tree on the right or the bunker or whatever, chances are you're either going to end up in one of those or else you're going to over-correct and put yourself at a disadvantage some other way. When what you need to be thinking about is simply executing your swing and trusting the club you have in your hand and blocking all those other thoughts out.

Kirby is the guy on the tee obsessing over the water hazard on the left so hard that he ends up hitting it in the water hazard over on the right instead.

Who gives a shite if he misses it, it was the choice with the highest odds of success. If there’s a 3% chance the Hail Mary converts and only a 10% chance Rod nails it, you kick the fricking FG.

This is right - is there any doubt Rod doesn't hit that 55 yard game winner?

It's been said before but we are playing scared and not to lose. We will know a lot more based on how this team looks versus Kentucky. We've got to establish some rhythm and confidence in the passing game with Blaylock and Pickens. We badly need more depth at WR behind Cager and DRob.

I understand the concerns. It was dispiriting. Words don’t describe how awful yesterday’s performance was. With that being said... It would be a major mistake for UGA fans to turn their backs on this team. We’re still really good. It’s just one of those games, and yes I’m aware of the past and don’t need a quoted history lesson... There’s plenty of quality opportunities to get right back in there. I’m moving on.

I didn’t have a problem with it. Nothing was going our way yesterday. We had already had one kick blocked and a kick of that distance has a much lower trajectory with a higher chance of getting blocked than the one that was previously. We had the more athletic team and were at home. The longer a game plays out, the more athletic team will most likely win. It’s kind of the reverse of why Mack Brown went for two against Clemson.

Kirby usually makes the wrong decision on such plays. He decided against trying 2 long but makable field goal attempts.

I wish on the 2&5 Fromm hadn’t predetermined his target. Coming out of the 2&5 huddle, you can see Fromm telling Wolf it’s coming his way. Sure enough he throws it into tight coverage with the defender undercutting the throw & easily knocking it down.

Meanwhile, Simmons was wide open on a slant a yard over the first down line with his defender trailing a yard & half behind. Had Fromm, who ironically looked off the perimeter defenders by staring straight down the field, thrown it to the open Simmons, who just caught the 5 yarder on 1&10 — Simmons had an open field to run.

And even though 3&5 was a penalty, Fromm again forced a throw to the same side under tight coverage to Simmons. This time the ball was tipped by a supporting defender.

Standing entirely uncovered two yards over the first down line directly in front of Fromm was Cook who came out of the backfield & no defender picked him up. He could have run for days.

I know time was a factor but Fromm should have seen Simmons & Cook — both wide open over the middle — for the first down.
