Bama tracking students through their phones, penalizing for leaving early

Fascit Bama and Dictator Saban rolling out the Great Value version of China's social credit score program.
It's really sad they have to go to these despicable lengths to try and pretend like they have a good home crowd

I'm sure Saban will get pissy and make it so students can't leave without scanning their phone at the gate or something to get around their get around. He's controlling like that (that's why nobody is surprised his kids turned out the way they did)

In recent years, Alabama head coach Nick Saban has complained about student attendance at football games. Notably, he hasn’t particularly liked that students either leave early or don’t show up for non-conference cupcake games against teams like The Citadel and New Mexico State.
Well, Alabama now has a plan to keep students inside Bryant-Denny Stadium for all four quarters, and … it’s just a bit creepy.
According to a report from The New York Times, Alabama had its students install a version of the app, FanMaker, that tracks their locations while inside the stadium. If they leave early, the app knows and doesn’t award them the loyalty points that are needed for perks like College Football Playoff tickets.
Via The Times:
The Tide Loyalty Points program works like this: Students, who typically pay about $10 for home tickets, download the app and earn 100 points for attending a home game and an additional 250 for staying until the fourth quarter. Those points augment ones they garner mostly from progress they have made toward their degrees — 100 points per credit hour. (A regular load would be 15 credits per semester, or 1,500 points.)

But really, this new technology seems relatively easy to work around. I’ll give it a couple weeks until fraternity and sorority pledges are stuck holding dozens of phones for active members.

Saban should just retire. That'll show those ungrateful students.

I guess you dont have to turn it on if you just earn points via credit hours, if you dont want to give your location away dont have to and still be able to earn points

They're not leaving their phones. Especially the sorostitutes. They gonna miss an insta moment?

I think it’s good
It'd be good if the students would just stay on their own. Idk what the hell is wrong with the Bama student body, maybe there's just too many OOS kids these days that don't care, but but it's embarrassing they have to bribe the students to stay and watch one of the top programs in the country play

This is like one step away from just making football games a class that everyone has to take

I know this:
Most Georgia students only got tickets to 3 or 4 games this season. I know there are people who would kill to go to all 7 home games.
If you are going to leave early, don’t go. It’s unfair to spend 45 minutes at a game, when there are hundreds of other people who would love to go.

Where were you during the Summer when this was first discussed? And why are you starting off season threads now?

Der Sabanreich must quell insurrection in the capital in order to retain its holdings across Middle America

Saban should start allowing these horrible teams to stay within a touchdown or 2 late in the 4th quarter. Seems to work for Auburn.

Of course, Saban could also do his part to improve student attendance by — I don’t know — scheduling some marquee non-conference games at home.
Preach. Give the students a good game to watch and maybe they’ll show up and stay to the end.

Not everybody lives on here like you, bro.
There's like 50 articles on this just published in the last hour. Sorry you don't know how to look at a timestamp on an article. They just tested the app last weekend

Same with UA students.
And it's a way to try to reward the ones that go and stay for 4 quarters. If they do, they have a better chance of SECCG and bowl tickets.
