Coach O is a good redemption story.

I think we need to pump the breaks a bit on the win at Texas.

How many times are we told in August and September that Texas is "back"?... only to watch them fall apart in October and November.

Coach O has certainly done a great job up to this point. He's got LSU in a good spot, but how do we know this Texas team is even truly a Top 20 team right now. LSU could still very easily lose 3 or 4 games, and if that were to happen, would this praise for Orgeron still persist? I think not.

Let's wait and see how LSU does in the SEC before we anoint him coach of the year.

LSU can “easily” lose half of our SEC games this year?

Fair.

One question though. How many times have teams hung 450+ yds on a Texas defense in Austin?

Once.

No one is saying this. Just that the criticism of the initial hire, myself included, and ridicule of LSU for making the move from interim to HC was short-sighted and jumping the gun with only the evidence of the disaster that was/is Ole Miss.

Is it embarrassing to provide this recommendation after Coach O demoralized UGA by 20?

Coach O still hasn’t won a Championship so of course he isn’t an all time great or anything like that.... but to say he has the exceeded expectations is a gigantic understatement.

LSU has for the most part played well under him and is recruiting at an elite level. By now many, myself included, thought LSU was going to be struggling.

Before last Saturday night, I was one of those fans who said, "Texas beat UGa, because they were disappointed to be playing in the Sugar Bowl... yada yada yada." But after our game against them, I am convinced they would have beaten UGa five out of five times. Sam Ehlinger was that good. UT will contend for the Big 12 and a playoff spot.

Orgeron is undefeated against top ten opponents that are not the University of Alabama. With the amount of top ten opponents we have played during his tenure, that is an extremely impressive stat. He will win at LSU for a very long time. With how he has been recruiting, it will only get better.
