I’ve read a lot of panic (not here) about our OL and overall sloppiness against TSU, but the reality is we beat an FBS team by 5 touchdowns and if not for two TOs inside the 5 it would have been 7. Under Fran, Sherman and Sumlin we sweated games like this out somewhat regularly.
Meanwhile, teams that are expected to be competitive this year are struggling terribly today with the likes of Northern Iowa, South Alabama, ULaLa and James Madison. OSU only best FAU by three scores.
We’re to the point where a half arse showing still beats bottom tier bowl division teams by huge margins.

I live here in the Tennessee Volunteer heartland now. Will be some fans still in shock tomorrow morning at church, I bet.
What they would give to be bitching about a 41-7 victory...

Today’s games made me worry less about Auburn & State.

We are definitely Top 4 in conference.
Problem is the Auburn game is always a shite show regardless of either teams rankings or ability.

It's still too early for me to say. For sure, it's Alabama and then A&M, Aurburn and LSU fighting for the #2, #3, and #4 spots.

While I agree we shouldn’t be as hard on ourselves as we have been, it’s only week one and I’m not putting much stock into any of these games.
Many teams are going to look sloppy and have a ton to work on, and will look drastically different midway or at the end of the season as they improve as the season goes by.
As said above, the auburn game manages to always be a sh*t show and somehow Arkansas is very likely to play us close even though they still look like crap.

I agree with you. IMHO we could have beat Texas State by 60+ if Jimbo wanted to. Our run game was not there, but Jimbo kept at it to get the work. If it was a key game Jimbo would have thrown all over with run sprinkled in...

Is anyone else worried about TE?

Not really... We just won’t have as big of an impact this year at TE, but our WR will make up for it.

I didn’t get to see the game, but from looking at the highlights - it does appear that the OL didn’t quite clear the holes needed. I saw one early TD run that the back had to dive in from the 2 bc there were 2 defenders waiting for him at the goal line.
Maybe it was an anomaly, but this concerns me heading into a big game against a DLine that stuffed GT from the goal line repeatedly.

I want you to have to lick Jimbos butt hole at the end of the season, you know what this means

There's no Sweet 16 in football. Do you mean New Years' Six?
