CFB is definitely week to week, and they could certainly improve but they lose at least 4 SEC games playing like that.

Highly questionable considering their lack of a run game, lack of discipline, lack of depth in the secondary.

I thought they'd challenge UGA, but man - they're not that good. Maybe it was 1st game nerves and they'll straighten it out in week 2. But that's not a top team right now.

UF will beat LSU with that defense alone. LSU doesn't have as good an offense as Miami.

Some was first week stuff like tackling. That will sure up week 1 tackling is usually not up to par.

Our Oline actually did really well pass blocking...but had no push run blocking. They actually performed very well vs a nasty front seven though.

Play calling was..puzzling at times. Toney did not see the ball enough. Not many screens which should have been a bread and butter with our WRs size. Not one of Mullens best games.

Looked like UK last year but luckily we won. Hopefully we sure it up some with the week off. Only true lingering worry I am taking this off week is Franks just not being good enough. It feels like it's time to move on. To much offensive talent to let the QB cost you so often.

Florida looked this bad for stretches of last season and still managed a good season. I'm not hitting the panic button but that wasn't the coming out party Gator fans were hoping for. Going to be another cardiac-trying season as long as we stick with Franks.

I get your overall sentiment but to say college football is week to week and subsequently predict a 4-4 SEC record is illogical

I agree. If we don’t improve quickly, we are going to lose a bunch of games. I am giving us a little bit of a pass just due to it being a week zero rivalry game. We will see how much we improve.

That’s not what I did though. I said IF they play that way they’ll lose at least 4 SEC games.

They can absolutely get better, but they damn well need to. The Miami OL (horrid) kind of masked a poor defensive effort. If they aren’t more physical tackling then there are several SEC teams that are going to run all over them.

Add that to the fact they got pushed around in the run game, on both sides, and that’s not a recipe for success.

Survive and advance though. I THINK they are better than that.
