Realistically, how big is the gap in the East?

How far ahead is Georgia? If Florida is the next best thing, then how many eyes will be on Florida on Saturday? Georgia seriously needs to figure out how to beat Bama or things will get ugly for Smart, because Florida will eventually catch up.

UGA beat UF 36 - 17 last time, that would be 19 points. So the gap is about 19 points.

What makes you say this?

Tennessee will be back before Florida. Missouri is probably UGA's biggest threat this year.

Not that big. UGA will have at least 1 loss to an east opponent this year and of course a loss to Bama.

You realize UGA hasn't lost an East game since 2016 and this team is better than the last two seasons.....
We are going to rape the East.

Exactly - gap can’t be that big considering they will drop a game to an east opponent.
I promise UGA will not be better than last year.

It's GA, then a couple of others, followed by a couple of others, and then two from the same state.

Florida isn’t the next best thing though
The gap is probably 10-14 pts

Georgia has signed more 5 stars than the rest of the east combined in the last few years
It's a pretty wide gap

Just because you have the fastest car doesn't mean you have the best driver.

The driver that beat Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl in his second year and has beaten all east opponents by a double digit margin for 2 straight years is still pretty fricking good.
Just because Smart is a better recruiter than he is a coach doesn’t mean he is a shitty coach, just that he is a really, really good recruiter.

I'm not saying Kirby isn't a good coach. I'm just saying that recruiting classes don't necessarily equate to absolute wins on the field.
Also, freaking Lyle Jones nearly, and should have, beat Mayfield. He also had high recruiting classes. He just choked when the opportunity to win presented itself.
All I'm saying is Kirby needs to show it when it matters; on the field. When he does that I'll concede that UGA made the right hire to win national titles.
Otherwise, he's just Richt with a better roster and worse opponents in the east.

I believe UGA has won 13 consecutive games against East opponents by an average of four possessions. They’ve also ran laps around the rest of the division in recruiting. The gap is realistically quite large at the moment.

SC is the real threat to UGA, not UF. Hell, Mizzou may be more of a threat this year than UF. They probably will be.
We do love all the attention UF is getting though, lulz
Georgia is not “that” far ahead. Why do people honestly think UGA is “that” far ahead?
lulz .... it’s getting surreal around here.
UGA is recruiting well and they had a couple of good seasons while the East was waaaaaay down. They’re not cake walking to anything.

Here we go again. This is beyond laughable.
BTW the SECE had 3 teams that finished in the top 12 last year.Thats more than '02,'03,'05 and '11...all years when CMR won the SECE.
