This was really good to find the kinks early.

Y'all had one loss, against a team that qualified for the FIBA world championships, and that was by 4 points.

The Spanish teams you played y'all pretty well roflstomped them. I'd say this was a very good trip abroad for LSU.

Did Auburn take a Euro trip to get ready for 40+ shots from the new 3 point line?

AU will have a completely different offensive identity this year.

Agreed.

This was a quote from Coach Wade after today's game:

quote:

“The stat sheet read like it needed to,” Coach Wade said. “We beat them 60-32 in the paint. We doubled them up in the paint. We forced 23 turnovers and only turned it over ourselves nine times. Three or four of those were us trying to get the ball inbounds. Two were side out-of-bounds, two were full court inbounds. Stuff we haven’t spent a lot of time working on yet preparing for the trip. That’s stuff we can clean up on and cut the nine turnovers down to four or five. But forcing them to 23 turnovers and then doubling them up in the paint that’s how we are going to have to play.”

60-32 advantage in the paint is yuge considering LSU is playing a smaller lineup and they had a 7'1" big guy.

Wait, Watford, the guy who just scored 62 points for LSU, the defending SEC champs, is from ALABAMA ? Did the Alabama schools not recruit this kid ? What’s the story here, William?

Watford was heavily recruited by the in-state schools.

He was very highly touted (top 16 overall recruit, McDonalds All American, 2x Alabama Mr. Basketball).

Looks like a future lottery pick imho.

Very impressive get by LSU head coach Will Wade.

Wow, that’s a bit underreported how much pull LSU has in that state in general with another 7 or 8 kids from Alabama on the football team as well.

Congrats. BasketVOLS typically go undefeated in their overseas trips.

We didn't play FC Barcelona, we played FC Barcelona B. It's basically a team full of youngsters who play in league 3 in Spain. Barcelona plays in League 1 (top league).

Whoever they are, they have a potential lottery pick playing for them.

Excellent job. Beat up on some scrubs and lost to the one decent team that would be at best a bubble team in the NCAA.
