Not so fast my friend. They got the fake invitation to the party 2 years later.
Kentucky "shares" one with UGA in 1976 even though UGA beat them 31-7 that year. The 1976 co-shared title was given to KY in 1978 due to an NCAA mandated MSU forfeit of all their games in 1976 and 1977 . Ky was given a retroactive "win" of the MSU game (even though they lost it), making their conference record go from 4-2 to 5-1, tying UGA. However; since UGA beat KY in '76, UGA holds the tie breaker.

I'm trying to be passive aggressive.

Sounds like someone's mad we wrecked the party

That's a total of 42 awarded SEC Football Trophies during a 39-year period,
Make that 43. The 84 trophy is still somewhere in Gainesville.

Auburn and LSU in 88
Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee in 89

Keep believing.
The Aggie’s constantly operate under the assumption that everyone else will just get out of their way and stop trying to win their own championships.

My guess is that A&M goes 7-5 this year.... next year they probably get to 9-3 because the schedule softens quite a bit, but by Year 3, if Jimbo hasn't taken them to 10 regular season wins, folks are going to realize its the same old Texas A&M.
I think Jimbo at Texas A&M is a lot like Dan Mullen at MSU.... he's going to improve them enough to the point that they reach their program ceiling on a more consistent basis. Mullen gets all kinds of accolades because he essentially got MSU to an 8-4 type program with consistency.
I think the Aggies have a higher ceiling, but I think we're set for a string of 10-2 and 9-3 seasons under Jimbo with no Trophies to show for.
I mean, I'll say it - Good chance Jimbo never does anything Sumlin didn't do.

Without a doubt. I don’t think he will get close to the success, albeit minor, that Sumlin had.
I’m still confused as to why they fired him. I guess the rumors are true.

Ooooh, division winners. Hang a banner like Ole Miss, which proudly displays its 2003 co-division championship banner.

I can respect this, but Dan didn't even hit the ceiling during his time at State. Jackie Sherrill smirks every time someone says Dan took State to new heights. Granted it was a different league back then, but an SECCG appearance none-the-less. Dan's biggest achievement, like you stated, is creating fan expectations where anything less than 8 wins is a failure of a season. I don't think that midset will change until something unexpected happens like NCAA violations. I think coaches will stop looking at Mississippi State as a stepping stone if we can put together some magical seasons like 2014.

Or don’t hang one if you cannot claim one. Simple.

I mean, we are talking about Alabama. You know, the school that can make a dozen out of six. Right?
The phrase, “six, one; half dozen, the other“
Was coined in a Mississippi dentist office in 1956.
The phrase, “ six today, a dozen tomorrow. “ was invented in Tuscaloosa around 1983.

My guess? Because Alabama didn't deserve any but they claimed them anyways.

Before the establishment of an SEC Championship Game, if multiple teams had the same in-conference record, they all shared the crown. In 1981, Alabama shared the crown with Georgia. And in 1989, Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee all won a share of the SEC.
